Today, I’m celebrating my 11th blogiversary! I can’t believe how the years have flown by. With over 1400 posts and counting, a few of you have been with me since the early years 👏🏼 and have witnessed the evolution from wordy to ‘Wordless’ and ‘Silent’, while others have joined me here more recently. (If you are curious, check out a couple of my earlier posts when I felt all those words needed to be expressed!) I am grateful to all of you for your views and kind comments. Congratulations! It isn’t easy to keep it going for so long.
Thanks much! Early on, I wrestled with the time it took, but eventually, I worked out a schedule that worked for me.
I check my blog at breakfast and lunch. No computers at supper. It is my weekly assignment to find something to write about. I’m not much of a writer, so it can be a challenge, but I love taking pictures of my flowers.
It is a platform for self-expression that adjusts to anyone’s wants and needs, probably why it is so popular. 🙂

I’m one of your more recent readers, Eliza, so I’ll have to go back and see how your blog has changed over the years. I always find it interesting to re-read comments from my early years and see how many people are still with me vs. how many have quit the blogging world entirely. It’s not for everyone, but those of us who do it, love it … and our community!
Yes, you’ve summed it up well, Debbie. The attrition rate is around two years, but those who go beyond that seem to have sticking power. 🙂 It is a great community and boy, was I happy to be a blogger in 2020…my only social outlet!

I read your post about SAD and, while I don’t have that, I’ve been taking extra Vitamin D for years, as per doctor’s orders. It’s amazing how much better I feel!
I also read your post about the maple sugaring process and found it fascinating. That’s not something we do here in the Midwest, though sugar maple trees abound.
And I loved those photos of the twin deer, still wet!

Re: the silent and wordless– I used to write a garden column published locally for 12 years (2004-16) of which this blog was an offshoot. I burnt out and it stopped being fun. Stages of life, on to something new (not to mention less time-consuming and easier!).

Ha, you remember la diabla! No, she was re-homed and became a barn cat in 2019, which suited her personality best. The same woman led us to adopt a 5-year-old female that has become the sweetest of cats. A good exchange! Thanks Maria. 🙂

Took to it like a duck to water and apparently, she settled down enough to make her more agreeable socially. It was a good fit for her, I’m grateful for that.
Congratulations! That is a long time to keep motivated. I am just coming up to one year and wondering if I can keep posting original items!! I have thoroughly enjoyed what I learn from others and feel these are so my people as I always can relate to your and others posts so well. I feel I want to make a map of where people are so I can have an even better understanding of similarities and differences in different areas. Thank you for your writing and visuals.
