Wordless Wednesday – Perspective
This entry was posted in Country Living, My Photos and tagged gray day, perspective, winter, Wordless Wednesday. Bookmark the permalink.

That image is as bleak as a land without power or internet. When my internet finally went out post-Beryl, ‘they’ said it would be tomorrow night before it was restored. Ha! It’s back, if temporarily: just in time for me to appreciate this lovely, cooling landscape.
I was wondering how you fared… glad you are okay and hope your power stays on. Keep cool, if only in your mind’s eye. 🙏🏼 💙
I, too, was wondering how you had fared. What a storm! So glad to read you have your power back. I know from personal experience what a misery it is to lose power. However, we usually have to worry about staying warm. Still…
I assume you pulled this one from your archives.
Maybe looking at wintry landscapes will help us to stay slightly cooler.
Yes, January is very different, isn’t it? The heat won’t last forever. 😉
Let’s hope it won’t. To some people it already appears interminable. 😦
Quite a contrast with the present scene!
Indeed… oh, to roll in a bit of snow right now… 😉
Beautiful!
Thank you, Belladonna!
Great sentiment.
Change is constant! 🙂
Indeed.
Beautiful and unique photo.
Thank you, Cindy… trying to think ‘cool’ around here!
On those hot summer days you can remember this picture! ☃️🌨️❄️
Exactly! 😉
😊…
❅❄︎❆
Cold! Yet beautiful. I am pleased to have the sunshine to offset the cold here today.
The heat/humidity have been a bit challenging, lately. Good to remember how cold it can get here. 🙂
….and that a l l melted to give us precious water….
Oh so cooling, too. 🙂
I’d definitely take that over the current 96% humidity. People use to leave the Northeast in the winter, but if this keeps up, folks will be looking for some place to go in the summer to get away from the heat and humidity. 🙂
I know, I’m dreaming of the Canadian Maritimes!
I would like to be rolling in that right now.
IKR? Six months makes a big difference!
Ahh, that cooled me down Eliza! It’s hot here again… dreaming of building a snowman helps! ☃️
The heat and humidity have been challenging, to say the least. Think and stay cool! 💙 😎
After last night’s sweltering humidity, bring it on!
Haha, IKR? I’ll even take a gray day, so long as it is cool. Friday is actually looking promising, yay! 🤞🏼
Oh, yes! Makes me feel better just looking at that cool landscape. As I wrote in my blog, if I wanted hot, humid weather, I would move south.
It’s good to remember that this too, shall pass. 😉
I’m glad we have spring and fall to take us from one extreme to the other!
And to think I used to love summer, ha!
I see where you are going with this one! How are you holding up? Is it very warm? hot?
HOT/HUMID! I have to get the garden work done by 9 am, and even then I am soaked. We’re holding up, thanks to a couple AC units and fans. Friday might be a good day with a high of 83F, then it goes right back to steamy. Ugh! 🥵
❤
I feel a bit cooler already! Boy, it’s hot 🥵
Simply unbearable out there! It’s the humidity that gets to me. We and the pets are parked in a room with AC. I can’t imagine not having it.
It really is something 😏.
Each season poses its challenges, even in SoCal 😉 I hope it’s not miserably hot in your part of the country. Do you have AC?
Yes, a couple rooms have AC, and we run fans and dehumidifiers to bring it down to bearable. The heat index has been over 100 for days, 109º currently. This in not typical for New England and we’re in shock. A steamy ‘new normal.’
Winter is looking pretty good right now. 😉
I can believe that, Eliza! Yikes, 109 is bad enough but high humidity has got to put you in the running with Palm Springs and Las Vegas!
With triple digits for triple days in our forecast, that actually doesn’t look half bad. 😉 ‘Just’ 73 days until the official arrival of autumn. Can’t wait! Try to stay cool if at all possible.
Historically never an early riser, this summer I’ve been getting up at sunrise in order to get my garden work done before it gets too hot. Then I retreat to a room with AC to read blogs and books. My ‘new normal!’
Yes! While I am a morning person, the dawn and I are becoming BFF’s so the dogs can get their regular walks in. Once we’ve done our 4-5 miles we can retreat to the comfort of AC and online work. Stay cool, if you can.
Thanks, will try!
Were ya feeling warm and needing some mental way to cool off?
It’s a lovely image, though!
You got it, Dale. Just reminding myself that nothing lasts forever. 😉
Is it working? 😉
So long as the AC does, lol! 😉
Hahaha! Mine is going non-stop, too.
We have rain that started around 1-ish. It will apparently keep on goin’ until Friday!
Hope it’s followed by cooler/drier weather. 😎
Yeah. Looks like it’s gonna return to hot and sticky!
It feels a bit relentless. If it keeps up like this, we’re going to have to invest in some real AC, not portables. 🥵
Oh yeah. Here, it’s a necessity. I have a wall-mount but really miss my central air. Better than nothing!
OMG, that looks absolutely wonderful!! I’m thinking a few snow angels before we go looking for animal tracks…and maybe making a snowman!!☃️😁
I guess we need to remember that though we love an ideal temperature, very few days actually fit that criteria. Best to find the good in each and every day. 🙂
I have to assume this isn’t a recent July photo. 🙂 That being said, it’s nice to see this chilled landscape, to remember that each season is fleeting, even if it doesn’t feel that way at the time.
January and July at opposite ends of the temperature spectrum. 🙂 Definitely a reminder that change is always coming.
Beautiful pic, Eliza.
Thank you, Dawn. There is a vast difference between summer and winter here!
The weather certainly seems to be getting weirder each year!
Agreed!
That did it, we’re heading to Half Moon Bay for some relief!
Smart move! 🙂 🏖️ Enjoy!
Eliza, it’s shocking to see from the comments you’re also having wildly high and dangerous heat/heat indices. Be safe.
Thank you, it goes up and down. This weekend is tolerable, coming week not so much. Grateful for AC!
I hear you needed cooling off a bit, over here we are all praying for a bit of warmth, so far we’ve had cool and very wet weather, and once in a wile a beautiful summersday. Have a great time cooling off somewhere nice !
Thank you! I’m heading to Cape Cod National Seashore for 3 days for some beach time, so looking forward to swimming in the ocean. (Haven’t been since 2017a2û`
Beware of the sharks !!!! Have fun !
IKR! At least they monitor daily and I won’t be going in too far. It’s my adult son and his girlfriend I have to worry about! 🏖️
Cool!! And a great reminder that this heat and humidity, too, will pass!
So intense! In Australia it is the middle of winter – but there are so few places in which it snows – what a wonderland! Linda xx
Thank you, Linda. I felt we needed a reminder during this last heat wave that we do get cold weather, too.
👏👏
I hear it has been very hot Back East. Is this post to help readers cool off? Looks cold!
Yes, I felt we needed a break from the heat, if only in picture form. It finally broke last night, 10 days of unbearable heat and humidity. 🥵
I love the way snow simplifies the landscape. Beautiful image! I wish it were cool now…
Thanks, Tom. I used to love summer the most, but I’m beginning to rethink that. 😉
This lovely snowscape is in sharp contrast to the scarily high temperatures you were having in late July. I hope those high temps have moderated by now?
Yes, I posted that to remind us that change will come. This week is cool (low 20s) with lots of showers. I’ll take it!
Lovely to have rain too with the cooler temps.
