We’re very grateful and proud of the work our son did refurbishing our front and back flat-stone walkways. Previously, they looked like shifting tectonic plates, now restored for easy stepping. Good hardscaping complements a garden!

Yes, you should be proud, that walkway is a Masterpiece
Thanks so much, Greg!
Wow! This is so beautiful.💗
Thank you, Deborah!
It looks great, Eliza! Kudos to your son!
Thanks, Kris! His first stone path and it came out beautifully. A natural pro already. 🙂
Excellent and attractive stonework – and the Primula veris image and flowers are beautiful.
Thank you, Tom. We are thrilled with the new look. 🙂
It is very beautiful! The contrast between the stones and the greenery is wonderful.
Thank you, Maria. It really raises it up a notch or three!
Great joy sonny-boy 😉
Job* but joy I’m sure is the inspired result 🤣
A perfect rhyme, too! Thanks, Dawn. 🙂
Beautifully done! What a pleasure to walk along 🙂
Thank you, Allison! So pleased with it, and no more tripping hazard. 😉
I miss the presence of my sons, who were so useful about doing various things about the house and garden that we now have to call in professionals for. Your son has done a wonderful job here that will last for a long time. What a difference it will make!
Thank you, Anne. For his first go at stone laying, we were blown away, so proud!
Very nicely done, Eliza… I could do with a son or two this year!
Thank you, J&A. A dream come true! 🙂
They look wonderful, very professional…
🙏🏼 He took a course in stone work last fall, so it’s taking him in a new direction. It appeals to his creative spirit. 🙂
and he is so good at it, Eliza… a beautiful job!
Thanks, much appreciated, I’ll pass it on to him. 🙂
Great job❣️ The garden looks lovely.
Thank you, Val! 🙂
Your son did a fabulous job with the path, Eliza. It looks very inviting – I want to know what beautiful flowers can be found at the end of the path. 💕🌹
Thank you, Joanne. This time of year, the garden tour runs about an hour, lol. 😂
An hour well spent. 💕
You have a delightful garden
Thank you, Sheree!
It is a special, creative talent, to work with stone. Hard work, too, that has satisfying, lasting, rewards. Another labor of love, which matches your gardens. More beautiful blooms!
Thank you, Alice. We were blown away by how well he did. 🙂
Looks perfect in your beautiful garden. Your son is a handy guy to have around. 🙂
Thanks, Judy. We were so happy he took on the project. I kept him fueled with praise, food and drink. 😉
It looks like it has been there since Roman times! Well done!
🤣 Thanks, Bill. Impressive work for never having done it before. So proud!
It looks great! Nice to have a strong back available and willing!
Yes! Thanks much, Chris. 🙂
The walkways are lovely!
Thank you, Debra. Much improved, they were in rough shape!
Your stone pathways are gorgeous, Liz. Is this Dylan’s doing? What a handsome complement to your garden.
Happy spring.

Thanks, Liv. Yes, he and S are quite the team these days. 🙂 Hope you both are doing well!
What a beautiful job your son did, Eliza! It must have been a lot of hard work but I bet he was happy to do it for you. The flat stones blend in so well with the natural setting.
Thank you, Barbara. I should add a ‘before’ shot for comparison. 😉 MANY hours on his knees, God bless him!
I’d not heard of hardscape or hardscaping before. Google shows the term began to take off around 1980 and peaked in 2005.
Thanks, Steve. Interesting, it is still in common use here to differentiate between stone work in a garden and plantings.
Wowsah! Beautiful job. No wonder you are proud. I particularly liked your description of how they looked like “shifting tectonic plates.” Not anymore.
Thanks, Laurie. No more tripping hazard for the old folks. 😉
Great job! He has a talent there for sure.
Yes, quite proud of him. 🙂
Beautiful work and post – thank you.
Thank you very much, Ellen!
What a beautiful addition to your garden, Eliza!
Thank you, Tina!
That walkway (or paved path as we say in Oz) is beautifully done. Excellent job!
Thanks, Vicki. His first walkway and looks like a pro did it! Quite proud of him. 🙂
Very nice, and I love the low wall with the large flat pieces on top.
Thank you, David. 🙂
It looks beautiful. He did a good job.
Thanks much, it was his first walkway, looks like a pro did it!
Oh wow! What a beautiful garden and yes, a beautiful walkway truly adds to it.
Thank you, Dale. 🙂
Looking good! Did he reuse the old stones?
Thanks! Yes, he pulled them all up, smoothed the bed, pulling out old dirt and relaid with fresh pea stone.
Nice!
Very grateful on many levels! 🙂
Your son did such beautiful work! I could use one of his clones to do some work around here. All I want is to cover up the muddy spots, but nobody seems to know how (or want!) to do it. And it’s not even hot yet — if I don’t get it done now, they’ll complain about the heat. Sigh.
Thanks, Debbie. Maybe try the local Lowe’s or HD, they might have a bulletin board for workers to post offers for work. Perhaps ask on Next Door, someone might know someone. Good luck!
Great suggestions — thanks much!
These are stunning…
Thank you, Donna!
💛😎🤗🌼🤗💛🙌🏼
Thank you, Susan!
Nice work on the walkways.
Thanks, Jim, we love the clean, smooth look!
An excellent job, indeed!
Thanks much, Sandy. We’re so pleased with it!
Excellent work. Send him our way this autumn!!!
MJ
Ha, he might like a trip to France! He is getting quite a few inquiries. 🙂
You have a very talented son!
He has the touch, for sure. Thanks, Hien!
It looks well built and safe. I like the daffodil.
Thank you, Maria!
Looks lovely indeed. Your garden is so beautiful (Suzanne)
Thank you kindly, Suzanne!
Rightly so, it’s beautiful
Thank you, Belinda! 🙂
ohhhhh so pretty!
Thank you, Belladonna!
You’re welcome!
Things are looking wonderful! Your son did a great job.
Thanks much, Tanja. We’re thrilled!
The walkways look beautiful Eliza, your son has done a fabulous job! 👏
Thank you kindly, Xenia!
Great work and your flowers are beautiful too
Thank you, Karina!
Oh how lovely Eliza, what a peaceful and beautiful garden, enjoy!
Thank you, Laura!
The walkway is lovely, and I especially like the way it’s complemented by the stacked rock wall. They look all of a piece: so nice!
Thank you, Linda. The wall is actually due for refurbishing in the fall. (The garden needs to become dormant before that can happen!)
Very nicely done and look like they will last a lifetime. Your garden looks lovely!
Thank you, Cathy!
Lovely Eliza, and I’m sure they pass through lots of lovely flowers and plants!
You’re right about that, Andrea! 🙂 Thanks!
He did a great job! Such a beautiful path leading through your garden.
Thank you, Rebecca! We’re pretty pleased with it. 🙂
