    …still snowing by you?

  2. They are resilient indeed! At least spring snow usually melts fast.

  3. I should say so! What a stunning sequence of photos.

  4. Isha Garg's avatar Isha Garg says:

    Look at those colours! 🩶💛💚🤍

  5. Dale's avatar Dale says:

How perfect for this Easter Day!

  6. germac4's avatar germac4 says:

Beautiful photos to remind us of resilience. Best wishes

Wow! I am sure I am wrong, but they look like Peruvian Lilies.

  8. Cathy's avatar Cathy says:

Happy Easter, and I hope that snow has gone for good now!

  9. Rupali's avatar Rupali says:

OMG. I am sure these tiny wonders will survive.

Hi Eliza . Tough as well as beautiful. A life lesson for all of us never to give up.

  11. Lovely images…resilience indeed. Evolution over time…through the seasons. Something beautifully metaphorical here.

  12. So true! I was checking rose bushes yesterday, and the leaf buds are starting to unfurl. Nature – it is amazing.

  13. Alice's avatar Alice says:

Lovely ‘Katherines’…..the Spring bulbs know, there might be snow…and crocuses are so welcome. Awaiting the Honey Bees.

  14. treahmoon's avatar treahmoon says:

    And reliability!

  15. Oh wow. Happy Easter

  16. I love this sequence. And your Happy Easter crocuses . . . as the winter’s-last-gasp snow melts off my tulips and iris. Happy Easter!

  17. Will not be denied. Great photo!

  18. They certainly need it!

  19. Hopefully the last of the winter and crossing fingers that these beautiful flowers will survive. In Montreal, snow is all gone and my crocuses are almost done. Everything is growing quite nicely…(Suzanne)

  20. Excellent title for this lovely post. Happy almost spring! ☀️

  21. greendreamsswe's avatar Maria says:

Yes! I saw the very first flower bud today, one of many tulips I planted last fall. 🙂 There is hope.

  22. A well-titled post, Eliza. Isn’t that amazing?

“I intend to keep blooming despite the weather” – doesn’t it warm the soul

  24. Dawn Minott's avatar Dawn Minott says:

    Yikes 😟
Mama nature in full PMS mode. She can’t decide if she’s winter cold or spring not-so-cold 😉😅

  25. krispeterson100's avatar krispeterson100 says:

I hope at least some of those Irises survived the experience! Spring certainly comes with challenges in your part of the country.

  26. Beautiful photos!🙂

  27. Such lovely images. One good thing to come from the unpredictable weather is all the wonderful flowering bulbs. After our last snow, daffodils, hyacinths and even a few tulips burst into bloom. Those bulbs are amazingly resilient.

  28. shoreacres's avatar shoreacres says:

When I saw those beautiful patterns on the iris, all I could think of was the shirt that Steve Perry wore during the Journey Escape Tour concert in Houston in 1981! You can get a good look at 1:05. See?

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

You’re right (how did you remember that??!) and I enjoyed the short trip down Memory Lane, too!

      • shoreacres's avatar shoreacres says:

I moved to Houston for the second time in 1981, and wanted in the worst way to attend the concert, but just couldn’t make it happen. Eventually the live recording was released, and I watched it innumerable times!

  29. Is it still that cold over ‘there’? Here in Oz we are almost half way through Autumn and my unit is still wide open and in shorts and a Tshirt. I look at that ice and think most of us don’t even get that in mid winter. Mind you, I take it that the pictures may be a before and after of what they have survived to obtain those nice blooms 🤗🤣❤️🙏

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Thanks, Mark. Yes, here we get freezing temps at night through May. Spring flowering bulbs can take light freezing, so long as it doesn’t drop below 22F (-5C). Overall, it was a mild winter with above average temps. More snow coming on Wed!

  30. So strong to survive the snow and cold — they have to be!

  31. Debbie's avatar Debbie says:

Wouldn’t you just hate wearing a snow dress for Easter Sunday?!?

  32. Gorgeous petal designs and wonderful images! Very fitting for the theme too!

  33. Widdershins's avatar Widdershins says:

    I think I can, I think I can … Woohoo!!! Made it! 😀

  34. Vicki's avatar Vicki says:

What a lovely trio of images. It’s amazing how resilient some flowers are.

  35. dawnbirdau's avatar dawnbirdau says:

    Just gorgeous, Eliza.

  36. I always feel bad when spring’s early flowers get surprised by winter’s late appearance. I hope yours survived!

  37. Joanne's avatar Joanne says:

Resilience is right! Will they survive the frosty blanket?

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

They amazingly came through fine. Their early blooms are now passed and we’re onto narcissus!

      • Joanne's avatar Joanne says:

Once your cooler climate gardens begin to bloom, they move through the flowers fast! I’ve noticed that with all the gardens I read about, yet here, our flowers tend to linger on the plants for a longer period of time.

      • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

The colder the climate, the less time the plants have to reproduce… it’s a race to the finish! 😉
