Cathy at Words and Herbs is once again hosting her annual Week of Flowers to showcase flowers we grew in our gardens this year. As we head into the last month of the year, it is good to reflect on all the good things that came our way during 2023.
Open to all, click the link to join in sharing Cathy’s parade of flowers. From her post:
“For the fourth year now I am inviting my blogging friends to join me in posting a photo of a flower or two from their 2023 gardens each day for a week. There are no rules, so just one photo (or two or three!) with or without text is fine, and if you leave a link in the comments of my daily post, others will be able to find you and share in the fun! And this year I will start on Friday December 1st, continuing through to Thursday December 7th.“

How perfectly lovely Eliza!
Thank you, Cindy!
These must have provided great joy at the time – they are beautiful.
Thank you, Anne. Tulips sometimes peter out after the first year, but this was their second year and still lovely. Fingers crossed we get a show next May.
Tulips are one of my favourite signs of spring. Lovely, Eliza.
Thanks, Dale. They sure do cheer the winter-weary heart!
They do!
I have put my bulbs in a paper bag in the bottom of the fridg for a month to make them think it was winter ❗️ 🌷
That works! What type are they?
I have ‘forced’ tulips, crocus, and daffodils over the years 😉
👏🏼
So colorful, Eliza
Thank you!
They’re quite beautiful. Now, let me ask: did you tiptoe through them?
Thank you… no, can’t say that I did, lol!
Ooh, how pretty. Something to look forward to during your long winter! 😃
Thank you, Cathy. Already anticipating it!
I love tulips but have never grown them… maybe I should, for they are so pretty…
Oh, definitely! Where you live you could probably put them in a pot over winter to bloom by your door.
That sounds lovely… 🌷🌷
That’s a bright patch!
Thank you, I like when they are backlit and glowing!
Ah, spring with beautiful tulips.
Thank you, Judy!
Love the color pop in this flower scene!
Thank you, Donna!
This is an incredibly sweet photo, Eliza. Soft pink, yellow and salmon tulips standing straight and greeting spring. Your garden is heavenly. Fun theme, too.
Thank you, Jet. I was attempting to reproduce the mod colors from the late 60s. 😀 I loved those bright colors together, I can still see my favorite dress with big flowers on it, ha!
Hi Eliza. You’ve got me longing for spring already! By the way, I wanted to say thank you for your advice on upping the dose on Vit D after my winter blues blog. I have and it worked wonders!!! I’m a happy person again so thank you.
MJ
Wonderful news, so glad to pass on the info. It needs to be shared far and wide!
And I am!! Call me Doctor Houlton…
MJ
🙂
There’s nothing quite like a bunch of dancing Tulips to put a smile on my face — thanks, Eliza!
Thank you, Debbie, glad to hear it!
Tulips seem to spell joy to me — lovely!
Thank you, they sure do brighten things up after a long winter!
So pretty! Tulip Time can’t return too soon 😏
Thank you, Belinda. It’ll be here before we know it! 😉
*SIGH*
🙂 Thanks, Kris.
Between the beautiful tulips and listening to more of Vivaldi: The Four Seasons/Spring, I’m ready to skip winter.😁
Ha, yes!!
🌷🌷Love 🌷🌷
🙂 Thanks, Val!
That is how they look in the bulb catalogues.
What a fine compliment… 🙂 Thanks, Tony!
Really amazing especially for 2nd year! Ours sort of disappear after the first.
Thanks, Gary. I try to buy only tulips that specify a more perennial nature. Most hybrids won’t last, but there are some worth trying. I only grow tulips very close to the house because deer and rodents love them, hoping they have a better chance of making it growing near humans and the dog!
Pretty and colorful tulips. Knowing they need the freezing temperatures to bloom again in the spring makes winter a little easier to deal with. 😊
True!
Considering we had a spot of snow yesterday, seeing spring tulips is a most welcome sight. Thank you for that! Now to warm up. 😉
Glad to spread the cheer. (We’ll have to wait until next May for the next bloom…sigh)
Divine 🩷💕💕
Thank you, Karen! 🙂
Beautiful colours. 🙂
Thank you!
They add a burst of lovely pastel colors!
Thank you, Rebecca! They are a happy sight.
