I keep meaning to plant clematis again. It hasn’t grown well for me, but those seed heads might tempt me to try again! Do they last in arrangements?

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

I haven’t tried them in arrangements… I would think that if you got them early, they might last. I think the seeds disperse in late winter winds, so you might try it.

That’s a lovely photo Eliza. You have captured that silky softness well. 😃

  11. Love how the light shines to make beautiful silkiness on that plant.

Delicate and very pretty. I gather it’s the remains of a Clematis – which one? Many Clematis seem to have an attractive afterlife. Sadly I haven’t found that true of C. terniflora, the only one I’ve succeeded in growing.

    This is so pretty. 🙂

  25. Joanne's avatar Joanne says:

How beautiful! This is another plant that I have not seen before, so I expect it must be another cooler climate variety. I love the gentle colour. 🙂

  26. When I photographed one of these, not sure if yours is the Virgin’s Bower that I photographed maybe this is named Silver Filigree?, There was a huge growth climbing on some bushes around a brook pond and it was a mass of white, both seeds and frost. They are lovely when flowering and when spent.

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Yes, this is Virgin’s Bower (Clematis virginiana), a lovely vine in bloom as well as seed. The shot reminded me of fine crafted silver filigree jewelry. 🙂

  27. Dale's avatar Dale says:

How lovely! The sun’s rays bring out all the pretty bits.
