Enjoying the last of the dahlias in the morning light. While there are a few more buds that will reach flowering, cooler nights are slowing things down and frost will eventually end the show before the month is out.

I love pink and orange side by side. So pretty these shades together.
Thank you, Dale. I really love dahlias!
With good reason!
So pretty in the morning light. In Maine, the weather has been had been so warm that I am wondering when the frost will come. Back in the day, a soft frost would have been about a week ago, and a hard frost by the middle of October.
Thanks, Laurie. Yes, same here. Always third week of Sept. for 1st frost. I’m hearing predictions for a mild winter, too. I wouldn’t mind that too much. 😉
The beauty and some of the colors of Dahlias so perfectly captured!
Thank you, Alice!
Beautiful! Dahlias are one of my favorites.
Thank you, they are a perfect flower!
A favourite garden plant here. Wonderful range of colours.
Thank you, Brian. So many lovely cultivars, it’s hard to choose only a few.
Just lovely!
Thanks, Sandy!
Welcome, Eliza.
Lovely – they look like a painting in that light.
Thank you, Su. 🙂
That’s such a lovely photo, Eliza!
Thank you kindly, Cathy!
Beautiful light and beautiful flowers
Thank you, Karina. x
Lovely, Eliza.💛
Thanks, Jane. A bit overblown, highlight-wise, but one gets the idea. 😉
Nice bunch. Ours are approaching their doom as well. 🙂
Thanks, Steve, hard to let it all go!
The light is hitting them just right.
Thank you, a morning treat for me. 🙂
Beautiful. Thanks for posting. ❤ ❤ ❤
Thank you, Deepa!
The low light at this time of the year is quite special, and is lighting up your dahlias beautifully, Nice photo.
Thank you, Noelle. A cup of tea and a bit of beauty to begin my day. 🙂
Beautiful effect. Summer weather returning this week just in time for a fall back this weekend to much cooler temps.
Thank you, Donna. I’m happy to enjoy what last warm days Nature throws at us!
Loveliness! Love the pale shades and blending of pale orange and pink.
Thank you, Cindy! x
Like you, I have some dahlias blooming, but I started digging up some bulbs today. The fall chore list is long. 🙂
I wait ’til the bitter end and frost nips them. I may be in denial, ha! 😉
Pretty colors, echoed in the mug. I’m sorry frost is already nipping at your heels.
Thank you, Kris. Frost can happen (historically) anytime now, but with tomorrow’s temp in the 80s…it won’t be soon thankfully.
Think the dahlias know fall is imminent? The colors seem to suggest it. So pretty.
Thank you, Amy. They know it by making smaller buds… it’s sad that most of the buds at this point won’t bloom… seems like such a waste of a pretty flower!
Doing what they do until they can’t do anymore
A fine example for the rest of us, lol!
A lovely Good Morning display!
Thank you, Belinda!
Almost time for that long winter’s nap. Beautiful.
Yeah, I got my stockpile of puzzles ready. 😉 Thanks, Gary.
Beautiful colors!
Thank you, Ellen!
Frost is expected before November? Ours try to bloom until frost, which is later than the beginning of November, but I think that they actually bloom later where frost happens sooner. I mean that they mildew and deteriorate long before frost, so might finish here before they finish there.
Up until the past several years, here frost reliably came the 3rd week in Sept. on average… now it is a month later. CC is real, our growing season is 4-6 weeks longer now, as last frost used to be in May and now is in April.
The light makes them look even prettier Eliza. It has been cool at nights here too, and even down to just above freezing once, but it looks like we might be lucky and the first half of October at least will be frost-free. Enjoy them while they last!
Absolutely! The next two days will be summery temps, then back to more seasonal. We’ll take it! Thanks, Cathy!
So beautiful 💐Thank you Eliza 🙏🏻
Thank you, Val!
The morning light beautifully highlights their warm cozy colors. Nice capture, Eliza!
Thank you, Barbara!
Shucks — I remember the days when we thought pink and orange together were overblown. These are lovely, and a testament to the beauty of the colors’ pairing.
Thank you very much, Linda. 🙂
Eliza, your photo is striking. I’ve got to get on the dahlia bandwagon. They’re stunning.
Thank you, Alys. The petal perfection of dahlias, along with all those luscious cultivars, makes them a popular flower indeed.
🙂
They almost look like a Gorgia O’Keeffe painting. 🙂
Thank you, they are voluptuous flowers! 🙂

So pretty! I can remember our grade school teachers telling us that pink and orange don’t “go well” together — humph, a lot they knew!!
Seriously, what did they know? It boils down to hues, some work better together than others. 🙂
Beautiful 🌺
Thank you!
Love the colors and morning light!!🙂 It was a shock this weekend to be so much cooler, hope you have a few more weeks of flowers.🙂
Thanks much! The cool nights are slowing the annuals down, so I’m cutting what I can. The calendulas will be my last flower per usual. I’m always grateful for them.
ooooooo
🙂 Thanks, Bela.
