They mostly grow in California and a bit in Oregon largely at high elevations. Acres and acres of them in the Sierras!

Is that normal color, or is it enhanced by the smoke. The news says that the smoke should not be as bad there as it is here, but of course, it is the news.
No, no smoke there, but dust from work they are doing on I-80, which is stirred up from all the traffic. Particulates, though, one way or another.
