He/she is a lovely color. 😊
Thanks, John, agreed!
You’re welcome. 😊
How beautiful! That’s my birthstone! I’ve never seen a moth that color before. Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure, thank you!
You’re welcome ☺️
My favorite color.
Me, too! It was a lovely find. 🙂
Yes!
They find you, don’t they?
This one sure did (in my kitchen… glad I found it before the cat saw it, ha!)
Eliza- 1; Cat- 0
Yup! 😀
Amazing 🤩
Thank you, Karen!
These visit our yard too. Love the Emeralds. Lovely find, Eliza!
Thank you, Steve. This one found me (in my kitchen), hehe!

Thank you for reblogging! x
Wow, what a beauty! I’ve never seen one before 🙂
Thank you, Dale. A little surprise visitor in my kitchen. 🙂
Lovely visitor!
Greetings from the cousin I found at Walden West: the Southern Emerald ( Synchlora frondaria ). They’re both beautiful!
Yes, I saw yours when I was IDing this one. There are a surprising number of green moths out there!
Pretty! I have never seen one.
Thank you, Laurie. A wee one, but so pretty close up!
What a beauty. Unique coloring and pattern. Do you see these often?
Thank you, Susie. I’ve been seeing a lot of moths lately, all varieties. I seldom go out at night, but I’m finding them resting on screens and siding during the day. This one had come inside, so I was able to photograph it before I released it back outside.
A pretty one! Seems to have short antennae. Not familiar with that one, because I’m not out when it’s dark. Their caterpillars have quite a varied diet….will check for those on Goldenrod, especially.
Thanks, Alice. This one made it inside… after its photoshoot, I took it out and released it. 🙂
I have never seen a moth that color. It is beautiful and probably hard to find because of its color.
Resting on a leaf, I’d probably have missed it!
Beautiful! If it hadn’t landed on that white surface you may never have seen it. 😃
Thanks, Cathy. So true, it’d be well camouflaged among greenery.
What a lovely colour. Almost like fresh young mint leaves. 🙂
Thank you, Vicki. I would have missed it if it was on a leaf!
Looks like velvet! Beautiful.
Thanks, Monika. I loved it lacy fringe on its wings, too.
And really green it is!
If it had been on a leaf, I probably wouldn’t have seen it!
Great camouflage!
Indeed!
I don’t know if I have ever seen one so green … cool!
It may be a bit saturated, but not too much… it was earning its name!
I have never seen a moth this colour, its beautiful emerald colouring is amazing, Eliza!
A sweet surprise for me as well. 🙂
That’s a (pretty dark) green as well as a pretty (dark green).
Thanks, Steve.
Wow, that’s one I’ve never seen!
Lots of green caterpillars, but not too many green adults!
WOW! What a beauty, Eliza. 💚
🙂 Thanks, Jane!
Wow! Amazing color!
Thank you, Hien!
Hi Eliza. That’s what I call camouflage.
MJ
Yes, if on a leaf, it would have been overlooked.
Ooh, I love him!! Green is one of my favorite colors, and he looks so mossy!
Thanks, Debbie. Definitely wonderful camo gear!
How beautiful! I don’t think I have ever seen a green moth. I’m dreaming of seeing a Luna Moth one of these days.
Thank you, Tanja. Luna Moths only live about 4 days so it is hard to find a live one. I’ve only seen two (dead) in my life. Maybe hanging around their host plants in June might improve my chances. 😉
I had no idea they lived for such a short time–that makes them extra special! I will have to travel east if I ever hope to see them, as they don’t occur here in Colorado.
Mid to late June, usually. Cecropia moths emerge about the same time. Those are pretty amazing, too!
Ok, I will put it on my travel wish list. 🙂
🙂
What a beautiful moth and photo!
Thank you, Belinda! 🙂
The emerald green colour is absolutely beautiful.
Thank you, Maria!
I’ve never seen or heard of an emerald-colored moth – beautiful shot, Eliza.
Thank you, Randall! 🙂
I like the colour Green for balance. First time I have seen a Green Moth like this. Thanks for posting the picture ❤ ❤ ❤
Thanks, Deepa, my pleasure!
Amazing colour
A lovely find, for sure. Thanks, Karina.
You don’t see too many of those.
Esp. in the kitchen, ha! 😉
