What is that pink flower on the R centre screen, Eliza?
Chinese astilbe (see tag line for genus/species)
🙂 beautiful garden 🙂 mine needs work with bad knees, ribs & back it has been hard to weed the quack grass this year 😉
Thank you, Washe, I can sympathize. I used to have many gardens, but I’m down to only a few now for the same reason. Enjoy what you can!
Very vibrant indeed. So pretty!
Thank you, Maria!
Very beautiful colours! Take a photo of this location in winter.
Thanks, John. There is NOTHING there in winter, except the trunk of the tree, as you could probably guess!
Okay, my idea was a bad one! 😂
What are the pink beauties?
Chinese astilbe, they can take sun, whereas the others are shade lovers.

Lovely flowers.
Thank you, Rupali!
Lovely colour and it all looks so lush and healthy! 😃 Love the colour of the day lily on the left.
Thank you, Cathy. We got 21″ of rain in July alone, definitely lush out there! (That is about half our total annual precipitation. 😳)
Wow, that is a lot of water. Bet the rivers are high. Hope you live on a hill!
I do live on a hill, thankfully! Our waterfall, stream and river, all close by, were roaring. A few dry days and we’re getting back to reasonable levels.
That purple flower on the right of the image is stunning…
Thank you! It’s Chinese astilbe. 🙂
Such a lovely colour…
Perfect adjective!
Thanks, Judy! 🙂
What a beauty of a garden! Those purply pink fluffs, are so cool!
Thanks, Dale! Chinese astilbe put on a great show that lasts for weeks. A rare astilbe that tolerates full sun.
It’s funny. I had an inkling it was an astilbe. I’ll have to remember them when I get my flower garden going!
Too bad we can’t hear the buzzing of all the pollinators on the astilbe!
Yes, between the bees and the hummers this section sees a lot of action!
Absolutely! Those colors sure pop.
The hummers love those crocosmia, too!
Even better!
Your gardens all look so splendid…those are beautiful day lilies!
Thank you, Alice! 🙂
So much lovely and contrasting foliage and flowers–nicely done!
Thank you, Tina! 🙂
I love the pinks of summer. Lovely photo!
Thank you, Belinda. This bed would have had pink and white phlox, too, if not for the deer!
Astilbe and Crocosmia blooming at the same time! That would never happen here 😉
This variety blooms 6 weeks after the spring ones, and right along with ‘Lucifer’… it’s a wild color combo, but I like it. 🙂
So much color in one place. Nicely done, Eliza!
Thank you, Steve!
I would have been happy with the Echinops and Croscosmia — but of course I have to work a little to appreciate pink!
I love mixing up colors, I like them all!
Sparkling with color, your garden looks bright and happy!
Thank you, Barbara… it certainly makes me happy! 😄
I’m smiling, just looking at your beautiful garden, Eliza. What hard work you’ve put in — and what a glorious result!
Thank you very much, Debbie!
Wow, those ‘broom-y’ things are fabulous!
Thank you, Monika! Those are Chinese Astilbe. 🙂
They are quite exquisite. I’m only familiar with white astilbe. Thanks for sharing!
You are welcome. They are different from the spring astilbe as being tolerant of full sun.
High summer beauties. I love the Astilbe.
Thank you, Amy. This bed always looks its best for two weeks this time of year.
It’s fabulous 😍
🙂 Thanks
Oh my gosh, 21″ of rain!? That’s crazy, especially when you consider last summer’s weather!
That crocosmia really spices up the mix 🙂
Thank you, Frank. Yes, a national distinction I wouldn’t wish on anybody. Our roads are a mess and being a small town, can’t afford to fix them without govt. help… fingers crossed they come thru. Have a great weekend!
A garden’s rainbow of colors! 🙂
Surely is! 🙂 thanks, Donna!
That’s vibrant indeed. What a difference rain makes.
It surely does, esp. this year! Thanks, Steve.
Nature’s colors are so beautiful and flowers sure know how to show them off!
I’ve come to love the bold colors more with each passing year… must be my eye sight is fading, haha!
