So pretty! Love this.
Thank you, Dale. It is a riot of color right now!
I don’t doubt that for a second!
Such a pretty, meditative spot
Thank you, Isha. There are chairs on the porch… come over any time! 😉
Aww 🤩
A drought resistant bed seem like a wise choice for the future.
Yes, this bed sailed through last year’s drought with ease. This year they are getting a lot of rain and seem fine with that as well. 🙂

So colourful
Thank you, Sheree. 🙂

Good ideas!
Thank you, Allison!
WOW!!🤩🤩💛🌻🌻
Thanks, Elena!
Something to think seriously about, in our rapidly warming world…
Yes, more and more, scary as it is.
Great idea.
Thank you!
Yet another combination of purple and gold: so attractive!
Thank you, Linda. I believe one can find a plant for every situation. This was a tough spot with hot sun and dry soil. These plants have no problem with that.
Lovely, Eliza.
Thank you, Judy. No water shortage this year however!
I was noticing my low scape mound shrub is changing colors like it is fall. 😦
Thriving! What is the coral flower? Looks like a good Hummingbird plant.
Yes, the hummers love that Penstemon barbatus. No worries about drought this year!
Lovely combinations 💐
Thank you, Val!
Lovely! They must feel like they are swimming lately. 🙂
Yes, absolutely. We had 1.5″ yesterday in about 1 hour, and more on the way. What a contrast to last year.
Thanks, Steve!
Somewhere in between would be a nice change. It poured here for an hour and we lost power for a few minutes.
Lovely combination of lavender with yellow. What are the yellow flowers Eliza? Has it dried out now then after your very wet spell?
Thank you, Cathy. The yellow is Sedum rupestre, the gray-green foliage variety. It is still raining, warm and humid, and the forecast this week looks like more of the same with a few sunny hours in between. Yesterday, we got 1.5″ in a little over an hour! We are in an astounding weather pattern this summer, a sharp contrast to last summer’s severe drought. We seem to go from one extreme to the other.
Looks like the flowers are quite content!
They seem to be so far, despite the excessive rain we’ve been having.
These days everyone needs one – or more – of those! Looking good, Eliza!
Thank you, Kris!
Those colours look lovely together.
Thank you, Andrea. x
Nature is certainly adaptive, isn’t she? Lovely color combinations — you have such a green thumb, Eliza!
Thank you, Debbie!
Blue and yellow, with a smattering of pink and white–that’s just about perfect!!
Thank you, Tina! 🙂
Beautiful shapes and colours as far as the eye can see!
🙂 Thanks, Belinda. That pretty much sums up my yard, lol!
Couldn’t help thinking, based on your title, about how drought-resistant—or not—the beds that we sleep in are.
Goodness, what a thought! I do know they say we sweat over a cup of water each night (some more than others I assume) and absorbent clothing and bedding is helpful!
Pretty, pretty, pretty! Oh, what a great time of the year!
Thank you, Gary. Summer is filled with good things for sure.
Adapting to these Interesting Times.
Yup… needs must!
A lovely, colorful arrangement! Will they bloom all summer long?
Thank you, Barbara. The lavender might send up some more buds, but this is the big show. I’ll cut it all back and it’ll go back to gray-green textures, still pretty though.
Are you getting rain? Friends in South Jersey are saying there has been a lot. We need some rain now … it’s been awhile.
Oh, yes, we definitely are… too much, I’d say. There’s been flooding and some farmers have lost their crops. A tough year for them.
