In my gardens, I have three colors of Cowslips (Primula veris): red/orange, deep yellow and pale yellow, which is my favorite. I’ve arranged it with the lovely sky-blue Grape Hyacinth (Muscari armeniacum) ‘Valerie Finnis’, a sprig of Euphorbia ‘Diamond Frost’ and Barrenwort (Epimedium x versicolor ‘Sulphureum’).

Primrose, Grape Hyacinth, Euphorbia, Barrenwort
How nice it is to have blooming flowers from my own garden to arrange once again!

Thank you for reblogging, Eliza!
As usual, your flower arrangements are beautiful!
Thank you very much, Hien!
Lovely flowers, complimented so wonderfully with your vase, Eliza! ❤
Thank you, Donna!
And a real treat for us!
Thank you so much, Sandy! 🙂
Welcome, Eliza.
What a lovely arrangement with the blue grape hyacinth toning with the vase colour. You’ve just reminded me I have all your lovely vases to look forward to seeing through your Spring too.
I had to re-home many vases when I down-sized my apartment and possessions and while I don’t buy flowers for my apartment over recent years, you remind me of how lovely they are.
Thank you, Vicki, I am looking forward to the season ahead very much!
I love your yellow primrose! I used to have some like that when I lived in Maryland 30 years ago, but I have never seen them for sale here in Ohio. They were always one of my spring favorites.
Thank you, Cindy! I got that primrose from a woman who used to offer divisions for sale in front of her house every spring. I got some really cool plants from her over the years (at great prices). Sadly, she no longer does that.
I could send you some seed if you wish. Just email me.
Lovely! I sighed as soon as I saw that pretty primrose. I’ve mostly given up on growing any kind of primrose in my current garden as they don’t survive long enough here to have much impact. That vase is wonderful too.
Thank you, Kris! They’ve been particularly lovely this spring. I want more and am going to try growing them from seed.
Vibrant! 🌼
Thank you, Karen! 🙂
I love the blues and yellows of spring. My Missouri primrose hasn’t bloomed yet, but my Virginia bluebells, forget-me-not, and pulmonaria are in full flower.
Sounds beautiful, Ellen. One case of the ‘blues’ that we don’t mind having! 😉
So pretty! I love the scent of hyacinths.
Thank you, Carol! Same here, but these days getting down there to smell them isn’t as easy as it once was. Thus, the vase! 😉
I hear you! have a nice weekend.
beautiful flower arrangement! and the flowers from your garden, what a gift! 🙂
Thank you, Lola!
So beautiful, I love that first shot of yours Eliza.
Thank you very much, Karen!
The vase and the flowers are sublime Eliza.
Thank you very much, Cindy. ❤
So pretty!
Thank you, Sheree!
MAGIC ELIZA, GREAT POST CHINA
Thank you, China, and for reblogging!

Beautiful flowers and a most attractive vase. I enjoy seeing the flowers from your garden.
Thank you very much, Anne, much appreciated!
Lovely colours, Eliza. Just so perfect with the vase.
Thank you, Dawn!
Your primulas are so pretty in that vase! Love the Euphorbia too. 😃
Thank you, Cathy! 🙂
Just love this colour combination and your vase is so pretty:)
Thank you, Karina. One of my favorites!
Me too😊
Loved the flower arrangement – and the vase too! Welcome splash of colour as we are having a wet weekend. MJ
Thank you, MJ!
You always choose such perfect vases
Thank you so very much, Derrick!
Wonderful vase (contents and vase itself). Blues and yellows together are so satisfying!
Thank you, Cathy! Probably my favorite color combination.
Mine too – but then I can’t repeat it later in the summer.
We have wild forget-me-nots that are that perfect blue. Pale yellow? Maybe an annual, like snapdragon, but I can’t think of a perennial.
That’s a beautiful arrangement and a great vase, Eliza. And it is especially nice that the flowers are all from your gardens.
Thank you, Steve. Vase season has begun in earnest!
Beautiful flowers and vase. Happy Mother’s Day, Eliza. Now, if spring would return. 🙂
Thank you, Judy. Who would have thought we’d still be wearing winter coats in May??
It has been downright winter type cold here the last couple of days. I’ve contented myself with inside plants. 🙂
Stunningly beautiful, Eliza! The Grape Hyacinths are finished here now, but they always make for a beautiful display of cobalt blue.
Thank you, Pete! Every year I want to plant more Grape Hyacinths, one can never have too many. 😉
That yellow goes perfectly with any color I think, but especially nice here! Beautiful!
Thank you! xo
What a beautiful beginning to my day and vase season!!! Lovely flowers and photos and I love that vase!
Thank you very much! That vase was part of a set of reproductions from (I think) Winterthur, a gift from a sister. They are perfect for small flowers on the kitchen windowsill, where I enjoy them all day.
Looks like Spring.
Spring in New England at last! 🙂
That pale yellow is both delicate and exquisite. I can understand why it’s your favorite.
Thank you, Laurie. ❤
What a gorgeous combination. The euphorbia grows in your garden, already?
Thank you, Alice. No, it still sits in a 4″ pot, going inside and outside, night and day. Sigh, it may be like that for a couple more weeks. Not even going out today, too cold!
Right now it’s 45° with 18mph winds, says it feels like 32° 🤭
Brrr… fingers crossed my budded up bleeding hearts make it.
Beautiful flowers Eliza!
Thank you, Reed!
Oh my! Oh my! The colours! 💛💛💛💛😍😍😍😍😍😍
🙂 Thank you, Isha! ❤
Those colors together are always a favorite springtime combo around here. Glad to her they are right out of the garden. Finally! Although the cold this weekend is really putting up a fight.
Thank you, Frank. Snow flurries and winter coats? What month is it anyway? 😉
Blissful!
Thank you, Fi!
Well that’s just gorgeous!
Thank you, Loree!
Okay, that’s it. I am planting flowers this weekend–your photos are unbelievably astounding–I love this one. I am a vegetable garden kind of person–but would like some color in my yard–do you have any thoughts on easy growing flowers?
Thank you, Shayleene. 🙂 While veggies feed the body, flowers definitely feed the soul. I’m addicted to their beauty!
As I recall, you live in SoCal, right? I am not as familiar with what grows easily and well in your area, but let me introduce you to Kris Peterson’s blog:
https://krispgarden.blogspot.com
Her garden is fabulous, she knows plants very well and was a docent at SCBG.
So lovely! I’ve missed your amazing vases.
What a sweet comment– thank you, Maria! ❤
Thank you for reintroducing them 🙂
What a treat! Really lovely!
Thank you, Belinda!
Your ‘vase’ photos return! YAAAAY!!! 😀
🙂 Thanks for the applause. 😀
😀
Pretty! I love the vase. Is it still spring?
Thank you, Amy. It feels like winter today. We’ve had snow squalls with high winds all day. I wore my wool hat, gloves and down coat on my walk. Is this really May?? I just looked outside and the deck is covered with snow. The wood stove is fired. Crazy!
Eliza, I was cold today..a first for May. stay warm.
Beautiful flowers. You’re arrangements are so pretty. Mine look like I just stuck a bunch in there, like a little kid, even though I try. It’s just not my talent. I LOVE that vase!
Thank you very much. 🙂 I’m sure your arrangements are very pretty!
The arrangement is stunning as usual! I love those blues and yellows together, but the VASE!!! Oh my, what a perfect choice.
Thank you so much, Lisa! ❤
adorable spring photo
A perfect arrangement for a very, very pretty vase! Lovely!
Thank you, Adele!
Beautiful. It is good for the spirit to see nature coming back after the long winter especially right now… (Suzanne)
Yes, so true. Thanks, Suzanne.
That’s a really lovely combination, love the vase too!
Thank you, Phao!
Beauty!
🙂 Thanks, Bela!
Love that vase as well!
Breathing deeply of the tantalizing sweet smells of those flowers! Gorgeous arrangement, Eliza. I LOVE blue and yellow together ….. cool and warm. Fyi …. I’m waiting for these darn freeze warnings to finally STOP so I can plant the seeds you sent me last year. I know or at least I think I do, where I will put them. Can’t wait to see them!! xo
Thank you, Amy! I love these colors!
This spring has been so cold. Or more accurately, a lot like spring temps when I was young before CC. We never planted our garden before Memorial Day. Do you think maybe our lack of activity is helping? That would be faster than possible, but who knows? Such complex systems!
I’m not sure if I understand your question, “Do you think maybe our lack of activity is helping?” I think what you are asking if the drastic decrease of human activity on the planet is helping Mother getting back to normal, my answer is yes. Did I interpret your question correctly, Eliza? Now that you mention it, our Spring is getting to be a lot closer to way back when. However, my poor flowers are so mixed up.
Yes, it seems crazy to think that things would revert to pre-CC days so quickly, but who knows? Particulates in the air are less, so those trap heat and moisture, affecting weather patterns, so with the entire world in lockdown, that is a big difference.
Forgive the wanderings of my wondering mind. 😀
No apologizes, Eliza. I’ve been pondering the same myself. Within ONE week of “lockdown” I noticed a difference in the color of the sky and the quality of freshness of the air. For weeks I’ve been witnessing extremes in weather, yet “if” Mother is putting the brakes on AND turning around back towards Her “normal”, wouldn’t it take the extremes we are seeing in order to bring back Her order? Hubby who has been keeping track of the weather since a boy, stated he’s never seen so many complex weather patterns just in one day. I pray this NEW normal stays giving not only Mother a chance to BREATHE right, but we as well. What a joy it has been to breathe the fresh air. It hasn’t been like this since I was a kid!
Agreed!
Beautifully complementing colors.
Thank you, Paulie!
