I made a little birthday bouquet for a young friend who was celebrating her 11th year last week. She’s been a garden buddy since she was a toddler and I hope that she will be for many years to come!
Pink Hyacinth, small-cup and split-corolla Narcissi, Tulipa ‘Analita,’ a few buds of Epimedium × versicolor and Viburnum carlesii, and greens are Lonicera tatarica and sprigs of Acer rubrum.

Thank you, Cindy. I’ll pass that on. 🙂
Beautiful Eliza 🌸🌷🌸

Love the color combination, Eliza. Great spring bouquet!
Thank you, Sandy!
My pleasure.
That’s a lovely gesture to a young gardening buddy; bet there has been some gentle and encouraging mentoring.
Thank you, Liz. I hope some of it sticks. 😉 A lifetime of pleasure awaits one in the garden.
Lovely combination and I imagine the hyacinth smells heavenly.
Thank you very much, Carol.
We tend to underestimate the value of flowers – both in the garden and in the vase – in terms of their power to lift one’s spirit. These look lovely.
Thank you, Anne. They are food for the soul. 🙂
A beautiful bouquet Eliza, what a lovely gift for your friend! 🙂💖🌷xxx
Thank you, Xenia!
How sweet to have such a young gardening buddy. Imagine how wise she shall be when she reaches our age from all you can teach her. What a thoughtful gift that I’m sure delighted her.
Thank you, Cindy. She was pleased with her gift – she is a sweetie. 🙂
A bouquet that can be admired from all directions!
Thank you, Hien!
How lovely to have a young friend who can be inspired and learn from you and I’m sure you learn from her too.
It is a wonderful friendship that I cherish very much.
Happy Birthday to your gardening buddy! A pretty, nature-bouquet. Almost time for violet tea! (I just heard a bird bonk against the window…it flew away)
Thank you, Alice. Yes, tea this week if she can clear a time in her busy schedule. 😉
Oh, those spring birds – I guess we need to draw the shades or net our windows.
Such a sweet gift. ❤️
Thank you. 🙂
What a lovely birthday bouquet! Happy birthday to the spring girl.
Thank you, Laurie! I’ll pass on the birthday wishes. 🙂

Thank you, Belinda. She is a precious one!
Gorgeous spring flowers AND a garden buddy – you’re living a good life. I miss my gardening buddies. They grew up too fast. 🙂
Thank you, Judy. I worry that she’s outgrowing her ‘old’ friend. I hope she doesn’t ever!
I saw that first image and said, out loud, “Wow!” 😀
🙂 Thank you!
A jam jar strikes just the right note for a casual bouquet such as this…lovely.
Thank you, Ricki.
What a sweet gesture, one I’m sure she’ll remember 🙂
I hope so. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Lynn.

Thank you, Liz. Much appreciated.
Just made my day! Thank you for sharing with all of us.
Gorgeous. And there’s something about a jar that I do like.
Thank you, Lisa. I save Mason jars, as they are perfect for just such a use.
Beautiful bouquet for your garden buddy!
Thank you! She was glad to get it, which perhaps not every 11 year old would. 🙂
🙂
So lovely! My daughter and I bought (since we don’t exactly have a lot of flowers in our backyard) a flower, a beautiful orchid, for her teacher yesterday. I thought about you when we picked out the flower 🙂 I don’t exactly buy flowers so often.
Thank you, Maria. Teacher Appreciation Week, yes? I hope channeling 😉 me helped in your selection, and I expect she loved her orchid!
Yes indeed, it is, and she was very happy about it 😊
How did your weekend organizing project go?
Oh, thanks, good for you, keeping me accountable. ;D I cleaned out a drawer where I stuffed every garden receipt, tag and notebook for plans for over 30 years. Some of those plants have been dead for years, lol! It felt good to clean that out, but since the sun came out yesterday, I’ve been working to catch up in the garden.
I asked my spouse to pick up some boxes so that I can sort out more books. Now to do it!
That’s awesome Eliza! Good for you!!
Very nice, love the mixture and container -kind of high/low!
🙂 Thanks, Amelia!
Aww, sweet! 😊
Thanks, Bela!
❤️
Happy birthday to her
Thanks, I’ll pass it on. 🙂
Beautiful! And well done, you, inspiring the next generation of garden lovers! Cheers,
Ben
Thank you, Ben! I hope it sticks. 😉
