This is beautiful! What a privilege, I think, to see an owl!
Thank you, Anne. It is always a thrill to see one. Barred owls are the most common ones here in the US.
Awesome, Eliza!
Thank you, Sandy!
Welcome, Eliza.
Exquisite Elisa!
Thank you, Maria!
💗
What a super gorgeous face! You must have been so excited to see it! Does it live near you?
Thank you, Alice! Due to an injury, this one must live at a facility, where it is well-cared for.
Love Owls and this a beautiful capture 👏🌈
Thank you kindly, Karen! x
That is a great shot Eliza.

Silent as an owl…
Thank you for reblogging, Eliza!
Who cooks for you?, Eliza. 🙂 Lovely portrait. It’s good to see this healthy looking individual after so many were not well/injured the last few years.
🙂 Thanks, Steve. With the warmth, they are starting to do mating calls. I always wonder how their babies survive the cold of March and April.
They are apparently much better at survival skills than we are. 🙂
He is absolutely magnificent, Eliza…
Thank you, Anita. Owls are pretty cool. 🙂
I can’t stay silent on this one – WOW! This is one handsome Owl, and a terrific shot. I like the header too.
Thank you very much, Judy!
Their gaze is so gentle & knowing to me. No wonder people consider owls wise!
Yes, they always seem so calm. 🙂
Stunning, Eliza!! ❤
Thank you so much, Donna!
Beautiful shot. Very nice detail, and how lucky to have the owl facing the camera like that!
Thank you!

Utterly beautiful! Oh, those soulful eyes.
Indeed… thanks, Laurie!
What a wonderful capture Eliza, such a treat to see this! xxx
Thank you, Xenia!
Such wonderful birds! I hear them in the evenings but I’ve only seen one here once in very poor light. I guess we need to build an owl house.
Hearing them at night is a joy. I read that they rarely travel more than 6 miles from their birthplace, so its nice you have some nearby.
Absolutely stunning, Eliza! What a beauty, I love owls! Lovely capture, was it in the wild?!
Thank you, Julie. This was taken at a rehab center, where sadly his injuries do not allow release back to the wild. But life is worry-free and he is well cared for.
Owls are wonderful creatures, and how magic to get a photo:)
Thank you, Karina. They are splendid birds!

What a beautiful owl! I hear these at the lake all the time but never see. I think he/she likes you! I hope it is not too grey for you Eliza. Sending sunshine your way from Mexico! Peace, Love, Palm Trees
Thank you, Kathy! I was thinking that you were on vacation – soooo envious! Enjoy!

Thank you, Denise!
What a beauty! I got to hold one of these years ago at a petting zoo! Amazing how much of them is made up of feathers and the rest is there tiny little bodies.
Thanks, Dev. Holding one must have been awesome!
It was a pretty neat experience if I may say so myself.
What a great closeup of the owl!
Thank you, Sheryl!
Great photo Eliza. Im longing to see one close up around here. I here them every evenning and sometimes early morning but apart from one flying across nearby, I havent yet seen one close enough to take a photo. Hopefully it may happen one day.
Thank you, Alison. Being nocturnal, they are rare to see during our waking hours. I hope you do get to see one some day.
What a wonderful moment!
Thank you, Dawn. 🙂
What a face!!! Thank you for sharing this beautiful portrait.
Thank you kindly!
