It’s been a while since I posted one of my arrangements. I haven’t been making as many this summer, as my new kitten, Bunny, gets into all sorts of things and there are only a few places where a vase is safe from her playful curiosity. But the urge still strikes me and I gave in today to go play with some flowers.
Using my Moroccan pitcher, I’ve arranged pink Phlox (P. paniculata), gold, light and dark pink Zinnias (Z. elegans), pink Coneflowers (Echinacea purpurea), starry Garlic Chives (Allium tuberosum) and white Flowering Tobacco (Nicotiana alata).
For wildflowers, I used pinwheels of gold Woodland Sunflowers (Helianthus divaricatus), puffs of white Snakeroot (Ageratina altissima) and Goldenrod (Solidago sp.).
It was fun creating it, and I hope you enjoy viewing it as much as I had making it!

Love the colors.
Thank you, Amelia. Hot colors are ruling the garden these days. π
Same here!
It so lifts my heart to see your flowers like this. My garden is far from this so I really am enjoying yours. Thank you, Jessie Pure joy is not found in the journey, nor in the destination, but in the moments along the route.
Glad you enjoyed it, Jessie!
Beautiful πΊπΈπΊπΌ

Just beautiful, Eliza! πΈβ€οΈ
Thank you, Betty! x
Great bouquet! Especially love the pitcher
Many thanks, Ellen!
How beautiful! Your flower arrangements remind me of my childhood when I poured over Good Housekeeping magazines that my mother got from her American penpal (now that’s a word one doesn’t hear very often!). I would dream of having fresh flower arrangements in my home one day. My dreams came true!
Thank you! Every home needs flowers. π They give aliveness and are a breath of fresh air.
I think of my blogging friends as modern day penpals. π
Gorgeous bouquet arrangement. You do lovely work with those. I have a small patch of mixed flowers. They are blooming a lot now. Zinnia, Bachelor Buttons, Cosmos, …
Thank you, Jim. Your flower patch sounds lovely. I can’t imagine life without flowers.
Me, neither.
It’s a free-spirited and joyful combination, Eliza. I hope Bunny soon learns to coexist peacefully with cut flowers.
Thank you, Kris. She is so active, I can barely keep up with her. I am hoping that by next year, I’ll be able to put more vases out. Time will tell!
Gorgeous flowers and colors Eliza! π β€ xoxo
Thank you kindly, Natalie! β€
Youβre most welcome lovely ladyβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈxoxoxo
White snakeroot is something I am not familiar with. I know what goldenrod is, but have never grown it. I grew phlox for the first time this year. It is not as common here as it is everywhere else. I used to grow more flowers than I do now. I can not arrange flowers though. I get someone else to do it properly.
These are mostly NE natives. Snakeroot was used by Native Americans, but as it is toxic to cattle, it was eradicated by settlers. It is becoming more widespread once again with the decline of dairy farming here.
I’ve been putting flowers in vases since I could walk. I’ve always loved it.
Some of the first flowers I remember playing with were the apricot blossoms, just because they were what was most abundant in the orchards.
Beautiful, Eliza.
Thank you, Steve.
Another beautiful bouquet. I’ve missed your weekly arrangements and all your pretty vases. Hopefully some π― π π and π¦ will come for a nectar visit!
Thank you, Alice. There are no lack of flowers in this yard at least!
I’m very sure you make all the pollinators happy…including the Hummingbirds! You’re happy with all your flowers…and on top of that you share via your blog! I can’t imagine not being surrounded by flowers through a good part of the year.
So pretty and I love the Miroccan jug.
Thank you, Chloris!
It gives a real flavour of summer:)
Thanks, Karina. I wish I could freeze time so it lasts a bit longer, but change is a-coming!
And at a pace Eliza. Certainly here it feels like September already!
Lovely Eliza, colourful and pretty.
Thank you, Andrea.
Just absolutely beautiful. The pitcher is perfect for these flowers, so pretty!
Thank you, Sylvia!
Lovely as ever; out of reach of paws, I trust π
At least until she figures out how to get onto the kitchen counter. π Thanks, Derrick!
So pretty! You should give a class on flower arranging.
Wow, thank you for that high praise, Hien! π
I never thought pink & yellow went well together, but you’ve proven me wrong! Very “summery”!
Thank you! I know, this is on the edge, but sometimes things just work out. π
A lovely summer bouquet in the perfect vase!

π Thank you, I can just imagine the wreck she’d make of it given the chance!
wow. everyone agrees, you really got a gift for showing off nature’s beauty xxx
Thank you so much! π
Perfect pairing of blooms and container! Hope your new kitty doesn’t like it as much as we all do! I use museum putty, sometimes called earthquake putty, under things that I don’t want broken by my furry friends.
Thank you, Peter, for the compliment and the tip about putty. Is that available at hobby stores like Michael’s?
So very beautiful!!!
Thank you, Laurie! π
Gorgeous as always, Eliza. I’m not sure which shined most — the flowers or the vase. They compliment each other so well that it’s a tie. π
π Thank you, Robin!
What a lovely bouquet, I rather like the Pitcher too.
