What a difference a week makes! With warm days and cold nights, this week’s view of our little valley shows a lot more color. Even the white pine on the right is showing golden needles. The day started out foggy and the mists were just clearing as I took this photo. We’ll see what happens over the next few weeks as it transitions into dormancy.

Amazing, how the trees add colors. What is the shorter tree in the front middle? A Crabapple? We have so many Sassafrasses which are mostly yellow & orange, now, so pretty!
Yes, it is an heirloom apple tree which has golden fruit.
Not sure if this is part of your property. May you grab apples from the tree?
It is my neighbor’s, but he doesn’t tend them. He wouldn’t mind if we took some, but they tend to be wormy. š
The colours are becoming quite stunning. I do enjoy this period of the year and we missed the dazzling colours while living in Paris. Europe does get colours but not the reds & oranges we get in Eastern North America…(Suzanne)
I read that here and a certain part of China are the only places that get these brilliant fall colors. We are quite fortunate to see the transition every fall.
We are so lucky to live here!
Absolutely! I couldn’t agree more. š
Love the change and it looks so peaceful!
Our happy valley! š
Wonderful autumn colours! I do love autumn š
Thank you, Pete. It is a nice time of year in many ways.
Wow it is amazing to see the change. It is Autumn in the full swing then.
Yes, I would say we are at peak this week. The oaks will be last, but they aren’t as vibrant as the maples and birch.
Amazing change in just one week, it’s a beautiful scene.
Thank you, Belinda. I was amazed when I compared the two shots.
Wow that’s amazing, such a difference!
IKR? A lot can happen around here in 7 days!
Then in a month, totally snowy… Here never:(
Yes, but if you head a couple hours up into the mountains, there’s plenty of snow!
So true!
Wow, just a week produces all that color. So glad you’re doing this series on the fall change. Looking forward to next week.
Thanks, glad to oblige! š
Amazing Eliza – it seems that your colour is late this year as well. And what a good idea to do your view every week! I wish I could be so disciplined!
Thank you, Cathy. Peak color was about a week later, but it feels like it is catching up fast!
My goodness, what changes! It is the same here, with more colour on the trees by the day. This is an excellent idea, watching the autumn colours arrive. š
Thank you, Cathy. Good ideas travel. š
A land of jewels š Gorgeous .
Nice description, thank you, Sue. š
š
Lovely transformation. We are just a bit behind you
Thank you, Derrick. It came on so quickly!
Beautiful, Eliza, really beautiful
Thank you, Christina. It is a sweet spot.
Amazing indeed š
Thank you, Nomzi. š
What a difference a week makes. So beautiful! I love October.
October is beautiful for sure.
They all went off and put their Autumn coats on. š
Indeed, it was that quick!
Beautiful!! I miss autumn in this part of warmer world.
Thank you, Archita!
So beautiful! I love opening the windows in my house and letting the fresh air in on these beautiful cool autumn days!
Thank you. We have to enjoy these days while they last!
Wow!

I can’t believe it happens in just one week. Nature is a miracle.
It certainly is miraculous. We’ve had wind and rain, so the view will be much changed next week as well. š
A very pretty scene! Fall comes and goes much too quickly in my opinion.
I agree, thanks, Denise!
