This is such a soothing photograph. My dentist has wallpaper of soothing scenes — I could happily look at this one for an hour or two.

  5. At first glance, Eliza, this reminded me exactly of when I’m flying with my husband and we pop out of the clouds to fly above.

This is so beautiful, Eliza! I too love how the “Light and shadow play across a field blanketed with snow.” I shared a similar photo last winter. See mine… http://ramblingsfromjewels.wordpress.com/2014/01/18/fresh-snow/

  7. Beautiful. The “wave” action is almost mesmerizing. This would be quite useful for meditation!

    An abstract work of art.

  13. Eliza, I have always been intrigued by your blogging process. Did you always feel this connected to nature and blogging was a way to share it? What about photography- have you always taken images of nature? As I have written before, I enjoy seeing the world through your eyes.

Thank you, Kim. I’ve always felt at home in nature. I grew up just a few miles up the road and returned here after my first son was born. We roamed the hills as kids and were free as birds. The connection feels inherent.
I started taking photos of the beauty I saw only a few years ago with a point and shoot. My family gave me a Canon Rebel for Xmas 2 years ago, which helps me create better shots. I would say that my blogging is about sharing what I see with others so that they can enjoy it, too. And hopefully to also come to see and appreciate the world they inhabit as well. If folks see and appreciate nature, hopefully they will come to care about and protect it. I so love this planet! 🙂
