These intricate patterns are almost ‘alien’ to me as I don’t get to see them very often 🙂 They are beautiful.

    Looks like stone carvings! Beautiful!!

  7. Always amazes me. Great photo!

  8. They look like tiny palm fronds Eliza. So everything must have been designed from a frozen world first 🤣❤️🙏

The pattern looks as though it could have been designed by William Morris; perhaps such a sight inspired him.

    Fascinating…I see many whiskers.

  13. Brrrrrr. I need to pull out a blanket for my lap after seeing that beautiful photo. Gorgeous capture, Eliza.

Hi Eliza. Now that is a thing of real beauty. I am reading a very good book called ‘How to winter’ and the author talks about finding the awesome and using it to help you through the winter. I think your frost patterns qualify!

These are gorgeous patterns. I stopped and admired some frost patterns at the riverbank of a nearby river a couple hours ago 🙂

  26. Debbie's avatar Debbie says:

This is stunning! It could be wallpaper!

  28. tomwhelan's avatar tomwhelan says:

Pretty patterns, a bit like lace or woven cloth designs.

  29. Bela Johnson's avatar Bela Johnson says:

The patterns are beautiful, of course. But I know how cold it was when we used to get them! Whoo-eee.

  30. Karma's avatar Karma says:

Beautiful, feathery design! Where do you see these – do you have a cold attic or something of the sort that is cold enough to hold these patterns?

  31. I’m picturing this as fabric for a tablecloth or a pretty dress. It’s stunning.

  32. arlingwoman's avatar arlingwoman says:

These patterns always stop me. We don’t get them here so much (or I’m not out walking along a creek after frost). As Alys said, it looks like cloth and when I read her comment, I thought, yes, jacquard!

  33. Awesome pattern and capture!

  34. LB's avatar LB says:

Gosh, that is a gorgeous natural pattern. Love it
