My father used to have a plough like this 🙂
Our property was part of a large dairy farm and there were many horse-drawn implements here and there on the property when we moved in 35 years ago. Only this and a rake are left as a reminder of those days.
The miles of furrows it must have made. A well-deserved resting time for the plough. A very nice capture with the snow.

Yes! And I came thisclose to sharing a something in a field (not sure if it was a broken sled, or what) in today’s WW!
There was a sled once, but the wood has rotted, leaving behind the metal, and a manure spreader, too… my spouse dismantled it when the boys were young. He worried they’d hurt themselves playing on it!
Oh yes. Best to take it apart – boys find enough ways to hurt themselves!

It has probably sat there for over 70 years!
We have seen SO much old farm equipment from coast to coast and in Hawaii. I wonder how much of it still exists, worldwide? 😀
What I wonder is what the collective weight of all that iron?! This one is rusted up and can’t be moved easily, so it stays.
And so they all stay, I think! We had them on our New Mexico ranch as well. Did we move them? Does anybody? 😂
Not since the steel drives of WWII, I imagine.

No, our property was once part of a farm, the land parceled and sold in the 50s/60s. This plow dates from back then.

Late 40s/early 50s I imagine. This parcel was sold and the house was built in ’57.
Nice reminder that the “good old days” often weren’t that “good”! I expect that old thing has a lot of stories to tell though.
