  1. The water always flows regardless the season Eliza, an acceptance regardless of its path 🤗🎄🎅🎶🎁🦌☃️❤️🙏

    Looking very wintery

  3. Brian Skeys's avatar Brian Skeys says:

    Beautiful winter scene.

  4. This is so serene and beautiful.

  5. I love the long shadows we see at this time of year, so close to the solstice.

That’s one of the warmest winter scenes I’ve come across; the sunlit glow of the grasses is wonderful.

Thank you, Linda. Looks can be misleading… it was bitterly cold that day, but I love the contrasts in color and texture from river to sky. Always a beautiful place to pause.

  7. My river, as it abuts my land, is frozen solid.

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

This one moves too swiftly to freeze solid, but the edges always do. Great for seeing otter tracks.

      • I love when they visit me but it seems they just come here to sled 🙂 further down stream where it converges with the Lamprey there is usually some open waters for the Eagle to hunt. Ospreys in the spring, summer and fall.

    What a beautiful view!

Long shadows and a lot of snow! This looks a pretty scene 🙂

I love sunny winter days, especially if there are shadows! Here today it’s just snowing a lot. I’ve already gone out and cleared the driveway 2x. And fed the birds 2x. Now I think I’ll stay inside and just watch it for awhile. It’s pretty. And I’m retired. So all’s good.

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Thank you, Dawn. At this time of year especially, sunlight is crucial. We’re getting a bit of snow today, too. It is pretty, so long as I don’t have to drive in it. Perks of retirement! 😉

  12. Tina's avatar Tina says:

Beautiful photo, Eliza. So much movement and texture!

  13. Debbie's avatar Debbie says:

I can stand winter if I can get sunlight. Otherwise, all bets are off! This is a lovely photo, showing just how long winter’s shadows become. Our meteorologist calls it “no justice sunshine,” and that makes good sense to me.

  14. It’s a lovely creek, does it freeze over completely?

  15. Pepper's avatar Pepper says:

That looks so pretty. Sunshine brings warmth to even a snowy day. 😊

  16. Dale's avatar Dale says:

Gorgeous! Love the warm tones against the snow. Beautiful composition.

Beautiful long shadows Eliza, it looks so wintry already! 🤍✨️ xxx

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Thank you, Xenia! Winter has arrived much earlier than in recent years, I think due to a southerly dip in the jet stream from the north. Chilly and blustery for the next couple days. 🥶

  18. Bela Johnson's avatar Bela Johnson says:

That landscape is in my blood. I can feel it through your photograph. 💕

  19. Can you send me that landscape for a few hours so I can take pictures of it? I promise to send it right back to you afterwards.

  20. Eileen Clark's avatar Eileen Clark says:

It’s a very nice post but I’m already done with winter, I know, it’s only December and I have three more months to go. 😦

  21. A pretty winter palette and scene!
