Walktober is an annual October event where we take ourselves outside to enjoy all that Nature offers and then share it on our blog. Anyone can join in and do the same, it’s open to all, including your pets!
Thanks to Dawn Kinster at Change is Hard, who hosts the meme and gathers everyone’s links to create one big Walktober post for all to enjoy sometime in early November. Click the link to find out how to share your own outing.
My favorite place to walk year ’round is our own 7.5 acres. After 35 years, our trails are well-worn and the route never gets old, as there are delights for all the senses around each and every bend. Enjoy the slideshow below as you join us on the trail.

You live in a place of beauty. No wonder you are delighted season after season.
Thank you, Laurie. I really feel fortunate to live where we do!
Wonderful colors and fun event.
Thank you, Rebecca. We’re enjoying a beautiful autumn this year.
I remember walking some of that when we visited you way back when. Such a beautiful place.
Thank you, Debra!
Such gorgeous autumn pic in your gallery. Autumn is such a lovely time of year.
Thanks, Monika. The weather largely has been beautiful for months, so the colors are showing very well this year. 🍁
Wren looks very Autumny! I especially like the ‘purply’…screenshot & ID is Oak leaf Hydrangea…that grows in the wild?
Thanks, Alice. The oakleaf hydrangea is in my yard as we head out on one of the trails.
Oh Eliza, you suffer so on your block 🤗 Colors and shapes forever, even a stream to listen to its life flowing by. And a nice puppy dog, who’s puppy bits no doubt shows itself often, even if mom put the leaf there. They love a bit of space to play and adventure in all that growth 🤣❤️🙏
Thanks, Mark. We love our walks!
Beautiful walks in divine nature! Always love your posts Eliza 🌿🌈🌿
Thank you very much, Karen. Glad you do! 🙂
Beautiful photos! Happy Fall!
Thank you, Nancy!
Lovely images, in particular the first one. There’s something special about backlit fall leaves…
Thank you, Tom. October light is definitely special, it shows the colors so well.
Such lovely images, Eliza! Hard to choose a favourite.
Thank you, Dale. Despite the drab start, we ended up with some decent foliage, always happy for that. 🙂
Yes, indeed!
Your photo at top is spectacular! I have been trying to take a walk for a couple of weeks but instead have been swamped with GardenTober tasks — at least they are outdoors in the autumn air and sunshine!
Thank you! Any time spent outside is a blessing in my book. Enjoy!
Oh my, what beautiful colors you found! And what a cute dog too! I’ll add you to my recap list for the November post. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks much, Dawn!
Stunning images Eliza! They are all my favourites🐶🍁
Wishing you a wonderful Autumn.
Thank you! And the same to you. 🙂 🧡🍂
I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at the scenes from your walk!
I’m glad to know that Anne! Happy to share a bit of New England autumn with my southern hemisphere friends. 🙂
Hi Eliza. What a good idea. Wren looks like a faithful friend! And fashion model….
MJ
Thanks, MJ. Wren is all about walks and food. Here she gets both!
The best colour palette, ever! 😀
IKR? Fall colour is extraordinary!
How lucky you are! Wren is super cute in her autumn gear!!
Thank you, Allison. We do feel blessed every day!
Your property is stunning, Eliza. I like the idea of October walk – might join in. 😀
Thank you, Flavia. I hope you do! We need to see that October could mean spring, too!
Wonder filled Autumn 💞
Thank you, Val. I bet Chanticleer is glowing right now… hope you post a bit of it!
I’ll see what tomorrow brings….. The light is wonderful right now for taking photos!
👏🏼
Seven acres, how nice. I have maybe an acre of trees, but not much to hike on.
A little over 2 acres is house, lawn and garden. The rest is woods left wild. The waterfall and stream make the property extra special, we really love that.
So nice!
So beautiful! 😍
Thank you, Tiffany!
Lovely fall colors!
Thank you, MB!
Your Fall colors are terrific, especially the last one with the river. And I do hope you rewarded poor Wren for posing with that leaf on her head! I’m pretty sure the Monk wouldn’t stand for that, even with a handful of cookies as bait, ha!
Thank you, Debbie. As you can see, she is concentrating very hard on the treat my spouse is holding… only way I could get that shot, ha!
What a beautiful space to walk and be Eliza and the autumn colours look gorgeous! 🧡✨️ xxx
Thank you, Xenia. We feel fortunate to live in this beautiful place!
Gorgeous, and I love Wren’s hat, Eliza!
Thank you, Kim. Of course, she didn’t wear it long, lol!
She looked lovely!
Your property is stunning. I’m glad you continue to enjoy the nature that surrounds you and my word, what a feast for the senses.
🙂 Thanks much, Alys!
That’s the best way to enjoy your fall color! There’s little to be seen here yet.

Thank you, Kris. I love where I live! 🙂
Wow I love that tree shot, and the precious old dog. And all the rest, of course. 😉♥️
Thank you, Bela! 💕
Autumn colours are just the best, aren’t they? These are lovely xx
Thank you, Jo. It is a beautiful place to live!
How lovely Eliza! Having so many trails on your own property, and in woodland too, is such a bonus for you and Wren. 😃 The autumn colours and skies are beautiful.
Thank you, Cathy. We love our little bit of paradise. 🙂
I so enjoyed your property and all these richly colored autumn delights, Eliza. Thanks for sharing your magical place.
Thank you, Jet, my pleasure!
Oh, wow! Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Beth! Have you had a frost yet? Seems late this year.
Lovely autumn colours!
Thank you!
Nice pics. I love fall though we missed most of it this year as we were travelling. We are back on the blog posting our new adventures. (Suzanne)
Thank you, Suzanne. Can’t wait to see where you’ve been. 🙂
Great photos, Eliza! The leafy dog is a real charmer!
🙂 Thank you, Tina!
The first image is just so amazing. It reminds me of printed floral frock.
Thank you, Rupali. Red maples have such great and varied fall colour.
Exactly.
What a beautiful place to enjoy all the seasons!! Love the photos, especially Wren!🐾🙂
Thank you! Wren is a cutie, for sure. 🙂
How very beautiful Eliza! Your photos truly show the colours and feel of autumn. Love it! And the idea of your way is brilliant.
Thank you, Agnes!
Those fall colours!! We had mostly yellow this year, not so much dark orange and almost no red. It is also much warmer than usual for the season (wind and rain makes it feel cold but the temperatures aren’t.)
Thanks, Maria. Clear yellows and golds are lovely, but it is the red/oranges that really capture the eye. Our fall started out dull with leaf fungus, but other trees are putting on a show ever since. Nice to see. 🙂
I agree. I really enjoyed your fallphotos 😊🥰
🧡
Beautiful Walktober Eliza!
Thank you! 🍁
Love having my own piece too. What’s on tap for November my walks have been in and around old cars time for new scenery.
There’s no place like home! 🙂
