    Spring is here!

  3. One of my favorite spring bulbs. They always remind me of some enchanted forest or something.

  4. Color everywhere Eliza, nearly have to wear sunglasses after so long in the dark 🤗❤️🙏

Lovely. Reminds me a bit of our naturally growing soap plant flowers. Even the san diego museum of natural history botanists couldn’t identify them. They are delicate like this with stripes. The wild ones growing here are white with cranberry colored stripes. I only identified them when I saw of photo of some.

    Amazing color and so dainty.

  10. Chionodoxa! I guess these favorites of mine are now called scilla. I used to look forward to these bulbs coming up in my garden after the snowdrops. I wonder if the new owners are enjoying them. Yours are beautiful, Eliza!

Yes, both are now together in Scilla genus. An easy way to tell them apart is S.’chionodoxa’ faces the sky and S. siberica faces the ground.
I’m sure the new owners of your former home are enjoying the fruits of your labors. 🙂

  23. Adele Brand's avatar Adele Brand says:

This is an interesting little plant. It popped up on a road verge in my village and I wasn’t sure what it was at first. Not a native in England but it was clearly on a wander from a garden 🙂

This is a lovely blue. One of my favourite plants in KZN (also a lovely blue) was known as Scilla natalensis (blue squill), but it has been reclassified as Merwilla plumbea.

  25. Isha Garg's avatar Isha Garg says:

Oh my! The colour! The COLOUR! Sigh…

  26. A beautiful blue! It seems that many of the early wild bloomers in springtime sport this color (in our case it’s wild flax and lupines).

  27. Cathy's avatar Cathy says:

So pretty – that blue is a dream. 😄

  28. Lovely flowers. Mine are out as well…Good to be back at home to see all of the spring blooms coming out. (Suzanne)
