Thank you, Giuseppa!
That’s a lot of wind blown bits and bobs on the snow. Not as much here.
Pine needles galore!
That dash of colour!
🙂 Thanks, Isha. It was a very blustery week!
You have a wonderful gift in seeing Nature’s Art. So many of your photographs capture what could be so easily missed. Your photography reminds of that Saint they called “The Little Flower.” Really a talent and a gift. The wind creating a tapestry on the surface of snow. It is both small and big at the same time and that is what have an eye for.
Thank you for your kind and thoughtful comment, Gary. Much appreciated! 🙏🏼
It is wonderful how much you manage to convey in these two simple photographs!
Thank you, Anne. It surely was a wild week!
What a great picture of the still-attached oak leaves so perfectly framed by a tree’s shadow. Those twig-snapping winds must have been something else.
Thank you, Barbara. Some of those gusts rocked the house… I’m not a fan of high winds!
Oh, those oak leaves. Beautifully captured and composed, Eliza. ♥
Thank you, Robin. 🙂
There is nothing like snow.
Yup!
Better a scattering of pine needles than a scattering of fallen trees!
You got that right. And aside from flickering, the power stayed on. Gotta count the blessings!
Winds were gone since yesterday and I can do my daily walks again. Now we need rain to come and sweep away those salts left over by the township trucks,
You may get your wish later this week. 🙂
Mother Nature trimming, again. Oak leaves & their shadows is a nice composition.
Thank you, Alice! I was happy not to lose power, even though it flickered on and off on the windiest day.
Oak leaves are one of my favorite fall colors! Love the contrast with the snow and shadow.
Thank you, Karen! 🙏🏼
Whew! Hope the winds calm down. We have seen trees take quite a tough hit from winds this winter.
Thank you, Susan. It has calmed down and we’re due for a warming trend this week, which will be most welcome!
Wind and cold temperatures – brrr!

Yes, a rather unpleasant week even by my standards!
I love the vibrant leaves in the snow Eliza. Today strong winds and sleet have swept in here, though they aren’t expected to last.
Thank you, Andrea. Stay warm and cosy!
Stay warm!
Thank you, Sandy. We’re getting a break this week with temps in the 40s starting tomorrow. I’m looking forward to it!
We are having a warm up this week, too. Maybe a couple of 60F days! Break out the shorts (lol!).
Ha, you know there will be a few crazies who do!
And they will put down the tops on their convertibles, too!
😀
We too have gusty winds here now.
Bundle up and stay warm!
Birdie me, I first thought I saw a trail feathers. Glad not so, whew. 😉
Thankfully not!
The colour of the leaves against the snow is so pretty! It seems that winter caught up with all of us this month. 😏
Thank you, Belinda, it seems we’re having a ‘real’ winter this year!
Drifting away in M A? Stay warm.
Thanks, Amy. It was a wicked week, but tomorrow looks pretty nice (relatively, ha)!
That leaf photo is beautiful Eliza. 💕
Thank you, Cathy!
The scattered pine needles and branches are a familiar sign, though the winds here weren’t as strong. The backlit oak leaves image is lovely.
Thank you, Tom. I was esp. happy about the twin tree shadows above the the leaf, cool blues to contrast with the rust of the leaves.
I’m not a fan of big winds, but I am a fan of your lovely photos, Eliza — well captured! I hope you didn’t have ice on the power lines and were able to keep the electricity on.
Thank you, Debbie. Our issue is mostly older trees falling on power lines. We did have a half dozen flickerings off and on, but overall power stayed on, thankfully.
I see the wind knocked a lot of pine needles out of the trees, as well as reluctant autumn oak leaves!
Yes, lots of debris for forest mulch. 🙂
Pines are litterbugs. Have a good week Eliza.
Free mulch! 😉
Is it warm and windy? Or still cold?
The cold and wind took a break this week… it is in the 40sF all week, drops back to chilly Sun/Mon and then back to 40s thereafter. I like it above freezing much better!
Nice to get a break from the wind at least. Spring is on its way ❤
Beautiful images, as always. Stay warm!
Thank you, Beth!
Brrrr….. Still cold there. Love the oak leaves
Yes, it looks like this winter is hanging on. Thanks, Karina!
Love the beautiful, barren simplicity of this Eliza.
Thank you, Nailah. It surely has been a windy winter for us. More gusty weather coming through tonight and tomorrow. 💨
