Wild turkeys are always a surprise to me. I would enjoy seeing them in the wild 🙂
They are quite large, intelligent and can fly at a moment’s notice in a great whirr of wings. Fascinating birds!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Eliza.
Thank you, Sandy! 🍁
Happy Thanksgiving, Eliza 💝
Thank you very much, Isha! 🍁🍂🦃
Happy Thanksgiving
Merci, Sheree!
Avec plaisir Eliza
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours dear Eliza! 🧡 xxx
Thank you kindly, Xenia! ❤️
Happy…in-the-wild-Thanksgiving! We had 6 large females enjoying our yard on Monday.
Thank you, Alice. I don’t see as many as I once did… they move around to take advantage of forage. 🦃
Happy Thanksgiving, Eliza.
Thank you, Judy. Hope you have a pleasant day with friends and family. If you are driving, take care! 🙏🏼
Happy Thanksgiving, Eliza! 🦃🦃🦃 Missing the wild turkey photo ops I used to get in Connecticut… Love the colors you captured on his head.
Thank you, Barbara. Wish they’d visit more often. 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving Eliza!
Thank you!
I have a fondness for wild turkeys…. nice picture.
Thank you, Dymoon. Seeing your photos, I know that they have a fondness for you as well! 🦃 😁
🦃🧡💛🤎Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Thank you, Susan!
What a beauty! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Thank you, Laurie! Hope your day is a nice one. 🙂
I love turkeys….they make great pets actually (except for the poop!) 🙂
🙂 I’ve heard of duck diapers… wonder if they make them for turkeys? 😁
I was lucky enough to see a pair of wild turkeys on my recent trip to the hill country. They disappeared in a flash, though, so your photo’s especially nice. Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you, Linda. They know humans are trouble, so melt away fast into the brush. These happened to be right in the back yard, so I took these through a window. We get a lot of cool wildlife passing through.
There’s a fine bluegrassy song that includes the line “Long gone, like a turkey in the corn.” That’s them, all right!
Happy Thanksgiving Eliza!
Thank you, Cathy!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family… though maybe not the case for this turkey! (Suzanne)
Thank you, Suzanne. I hope he evaded the hunters this year!
I sure hope this turkey knows what’s coming 😉. Happy Thanksgiving, Eliza!
I hope so. Turkeys are pretty savvy when hunting season comes around. 😉 Thanks, Belinda!
Best wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving, Eliza. I hope that turkey is one who will get “pardoned.” 🦃
Yes, and I’m sure he got lucky with the hen he was following, too. 😉
I’m glad to hear it. 🙂
Did he just give you the bird? À la bird, of course!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Thank you, Dale! 🙂
It looks as though wild turkey males preen as much as peacocks. Happy Thanksgiving, Eliza!

They look and behave similarly, that is for sure. 🙂 Thanks, Kris!
Fun photo! Have a wonderful turkey day!

Thank you, Beth! 🦃
I’ve seen wild turkeys several years ago, but they were not as colorful as this one. Great shot! Happy Thanksgiving to you, Eliza!
Thank you, Hien!
Wow…that quite a bird! Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving. 🦃
Thank you, Monika… wishing you the same!
Have a great day tomorrow! I had about a seven gobblers in my yard last week…
Thank you, Tom!
Struttin’ his stuff! Happy Thanksgiving, Eliza!!
Yes, he is! Thanks, Donna. 🙂
Hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful. The wild turkey photo is delightful. I used to see them in nearby fields when we first moved here but none spotted in many years.
Thank you, Susie. They are pretty shy of people it seems. They disappear fast when a human shows up!
The photo is great. Turkeys are such impressive birds. Happy Thanksgiving.
Thank you, Sheryl. It was a thrill to see a courting pair right in my back yard. 🙂
