Good thing we have gravity on Earth, or it would always look like this!

  7. Perfect explanation of raining leaves. 🙂

  8. treahmoon's avatar treahmoon says:

The stiff oak leaves just act like sails. We’ve had quite a flurry of them here as well…. the precursor to the white stuff!

  9. Wow! Great shot—I can feel the whirlwind.

Beautiful evidence of more than a gentle breeze. The even spacing is amazing.

  11. I love that you can see the leaf shapes so clearly!

    Terrific capture, Eliza!👏🏻

  13. Oh gosh…hope that wasn’t a freshly raked pile of leaves!

  14. Whoa! That’s a lot of leaves in the air. I once drove by a father and son that had raked up a pile of leaves and at that moment the wind came and blew them all up. The duo just stood there watching their hard work blowing away.

Oh, Mother Nature was playing with them! Luckily, with the slope of our yard, the winds send most of the leaves into the field. The remainders get mowed. 🍁🍂

  15. It seems as soon as November arrives so do the winds 😏

Oh my! I thought those were birds at first glance. The winds have whipped up here today too but I haven’t witnessed flying clouds of debris, at least not yet.

We’ve had a LOT of those windy days! I tried to capture a video of them, but it pales to how pretty they are when you look at them with your own two eyes!

Looks like we’re enjoying the same weather!! You really captured the wind in your photo.

  20. Wow! It must have been like being in an autumn ‘snow’ globe.

Oh my gosh – and I thought it was windy here!

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

We often get some gusty winds here, 20-30 mph, it’s the storms bringing 40-50mph that I fear. We have lots of old trees that can break in those winds.

      • naturebackin's avatar naturebackin says:

Wind is pretty much a constant here and is often buffeting and gusting, but seldom is a chilly as the winds I imagine you get in winter storms! I need to convert the mph to kph – but 40 to 50 mph sounds fearsome!
