Autumn colors continue to creep through the landscape and today’s vase features the colors of the season.

My sunflower pocket vase holds yellow, coral and orange Zinnia elegans and apricot Z. angustifolia, yellow/orange hybrid Calendula officinalis, rust-yellow Helianthus debilis, white spider flower (Cleome hassleriana), purple Verbena bonariensis and lavender heart-leaved aster (Symphyotrichum cordifolium).
The intrepid dahlias keep blooming, so must share the spotlight as well. Dahlia ‘Chilson’s Pride’, purple-pink spider flower (Cleome hassleriana), pink Zinnia elegans and cosmos (C. bipinnatus).

Ah, two colors of Cleome! I will try it for the first time next year. Someone shared seed.
Great, it is a beautiful flower, esp. en masse.
It is one of many flowers that I see others enjoying in other regions, but have not encountered here.
Both arrangements are lovely. I really like the assortment of pinks!
Thank you, Sandy!
Love those autumn colours – superb.
Thank you!
These are beautiful arrangements!
Thank you very much, Anne!
Stunning flowers!
Thank you, Judy!
Those dahlias are pretty, but I do love the colors of fall. And what a perfect vase for an autumn bouquet.
Thank you, Laurie. It does feel like autumn has arrived. 🍁
Those pink dahlias are gorgeous.
Thank you– ‘Chilson’s Pride’ is a superb performer in the garden.
Your sunflower vase is fun, and the flowers are splendid. I’m not so fond of pink, but your choice of the plain white vase is perfect; it suits them well, highlighting the white accents in the flowers.
Thank you, Linda. Both are favorites, the milk jug being a family heirloom with fond associations.
That makes it even more special!
Hi Eliza . What an explosion of colour!
MJ
Thank you, MJ!
An exquisite profusion of blooms, because of your flower-growing and arranging skills. Both vase-fulls are gorgeous.
Thank you, Alice!
While both vases are beautiful, I have a penchant for the first one because it is wild and carefree. Bohemian chic 😉
🙂 Thanks, Dale. I can dig it! 😉
☮️✌🏻😁
Those Dahlias are spectacular, but right now, I’m gravitating toward the Autumn colors. Beautiful arrangements!
Thank you, Debbie!
September has been so warm and sunny that I can understand that you are getting so much late season blooms. Beautiful bouquets…(Suzanne)
Thank you, Suzanne. Our frosts are coming about a month later than they did even a decade ago.
The sunflower vase with the zinnias makes such an amazing autumn display.
Thank you, Donna!
Some of my favorites! I do love that sunflower vase Eliza 💐
Thank you, Val! 💜
🍁🧡🍂
I’ve always loved your sunflower vase and your dressed it up beautifully, Eliza! I like the pink arrangement a lot too. Your Dahlia ‘Chilson’s Pride’ reminds me of ‘Break Out’; however, I like yours more.

Thank you, Kris. ‘CP’ is a fine performer, I recommend it!
Remember when I posted how glad I was for no more 100 degree days? Apparently they got it wrong, 103 tomorrow.
Ugh, so unfair, and its Oct. right? Time to cool down!
Ooh, how lovely to see your pocket vase again, and those gorgeous pale yellow zinnias! Such lovely soft pinks in the second vase too – how much longer do you think your zinnias and dhlias will be flowering?
It seems that our first frost will be mid to late Oct. but I see new bud growth is slowing down. The end is near!
That’s a relatively specific forecast, Eliza!
Relying on historical records… 😉
Ah….ours are very variable though
Such wonderful cheery blossoms. Your garden must have had a wonderful year
Thank you, Karina. I did have a good garden season and things are slowing down now. Still blooms to pick until frost ends it all. 🙂
Fantastic assortment today, Eliza. Your soil must be amazing.
Thank you, Amy. 34 years and counting, I’ve been adding to it. It always could use more!
That may be a weird comment..my first thought the flowers look so good the soil must be fab 😍
I figured you were coming from the fact that you garden in sugar-sand and struggle to add OM. Yes? 😉
Yes so jealous of actual soil.
What a well-planned garden for it to continue to produce this variety of pretty blooms!
Thank you, Tom. From mid-March to mid-Oct. there is something in bloom, I stretch it the best I can. 🙂
Beautiful vase and beautiful photos! Happy autumn!

Thank you, Susie 🙏🏼
Such beautiful arrangements, a delight to the eyes!
Thank you, Belinda! 🙂
Beautiful, Eliza! Autumn colors, my favorite.
Thank you, Rebecca! 🍁
Happy to see your sunflower vase again, full to the brim with gorgeous colours! (And thanks for reminding me of the name of that aster, which I also used in my vase this week.) Your dahlias are all beautiful too. Such a great mix of flowers in that pink vase. Lovely!
Thank you very much, Cathy!
These are gorgeous Eliza. I’m not a pink girl, but that pink arrangement may just be my favourite!
Thank you, Andrea. When it comes to flowers, I love them all. 🙂
Such beautiful and cheerful vases of flowers. Well done!
Thank you, Monika!
Lovely Autumn colours and that gorgeous vase makes them all the more special as a floral arrangement.
Love the pink Dahlias.
Thank you, Vicki!
Love the arrangements this week and it looks like a summer/autumn party!!🙂
Thank you, S, the season is definitely transitioning towards fall.
WOW! I like them both so much. Your dahlias are gorgeous and I love the happy autumnal colors in the first!
Thanks, Denise. The season is drawing to a close, so I’ll celebrate the flowers in what time is left. 🙂
