That’s a big honking bee in the sweet peas!
Thank you, Ellen. I think it was a carpenter bee, they are the biggest around here.
What a catch! Great clarity overall, Eliza. Nature in action! 🙂👍🏻
Thank you, Jane. I was so intent on the monarch I missed the bee until I uploaded it! A lucky shot. 🙂
Beeeautifil 🐝 💕
🙂 Thanks, Karen. 🙏🏼
It really does look like a photobombing bee!
Intent on the flower, if not getting into the shot! 😉
..but I still think the Monarch steals the show 🙂
Surely! 🙂
A great shot. He was trying to get your attention… difficult with such a beautfiul butterfly around! 🤣
Thank you, Cathy. I was so focused on the monarch butterfly, that I missed the bee until I saw it when I uploaded it!
I can almost smell the scent of the sweetpeas and feel the tickle of the sun in this lovely action shot.
Thank you, Anne. It was a steamy summer day, but at least their was a lovely breeze to keep the biting flies at bay.
Happy to see your Monarch! ‘Click’…now they’re both on the internet!
This one and a few others were in a field down the Cape. Wonderful to see them!
What a sweet tangle of flora and fauna. Of course the bee wanted to be part of the show!
Naturally! It was a busy feeding spot. 🙂
You have monarchs??? Haven’t seen any here…..:-(
This was in Eastham on the Cape.
Great shot! I see a lot of fights between pollinators. They all want their dinner.
Thank you! Everyone wants their delicious nectar. 🙂
Plenty for everyone! What a lovely summer scene 😊
Thank you, Belinda. It was good to see a few monarchs in this field. Sadly, I’ve seen none closer to home.
I haven’t seen one yet 😟
Quite a scene, what a large bee! The Monarch looks great in this. I haven’t seen an adult yet this year, just one large caterpillar.
Thanks, Tom. I think it was a carpenter bee. I have only seen a few adult monarchs this year, none in my yard, similar to last year. I have lots of flowers for nectar and milkweed for larva, but no customers, alas.
Lovely pollinators in the sweet peas.
They were very happy it seems!
Drunk with pollen I’m guessing. I watched a Painted Lady butterfly going crazy early today. It was like it just couldn’t get enough from any plant!
Most amusing. Well done for catching that detail!
MJ
Thanks, MJ. I never saw that bee until processing. 😉
Big old bee there, Eliza! Still, I think the Monarch is the star of this photo!
Thanks, Debbie, I didn’t notice the bee until processing!
Always nice to see photo-bombing pollinators! (Also, the ones that you were actually aiming for!)
Yes, agreed… thanks, Tina! 🐝
Love it 😍
🙂 Thanks, Val!
Beauteous Eliza.
Thank you, Cindy! 🙂
Heh, cheeky bee. 😀
IKR? 😀
What a nice photo capture!
Thank you, Hien. The bee was a surprise bonus!
Now we need a picture that includes the photobombing photographer.
Thanks, Steve. 😉
I have been catcig up on your poss and what a pleasure it has been, Your “art” is beautiful on ever way! Thank you, Michele
Thank you, Michele, so glad you enjoyed!
It’s the kind of photobombs we don’t mind. 🦋🐝
Delightful actually! 🙂
Exactly.
Wonderful capture of the busy and beautiful garden scene!!🙂
Thank you, I love watching pollinators busy in the flowers. 🌸 💕
Coming in for a landing!
Yup! 😀
I like your title … bees are like that! 🙂
Yeah, they are always whizzing by! 🐝
That bee certainly does raise a smile! Lovely to see your summery photos when it is so wintery here!
Thank you, Carol. It has been very hot this summer. This week is the first break we’ve had with temps in the low 20sC. Most welcome!
The respite from the heat must be such a relief. I hope it remains less extreme.
Thank you, it surely is. We will likely have a few more hot spells, but I think the worst is behind us.
Hoping so …
