Until I changed direction entirely, your title was going to be my title — but your flowers are certainly more glorious than any I could have come up with! Happy Independence Day!

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ What perfect sparklers the Alliums make! Of course your other arrangements are gorgeous. The ‘oohs & aaahs’ and colors of fireworks are amazing…but I’ve really been wondering about how everything ‘wildlife’ = all the insects, birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals feel about all the loud cracks and bangs πŸ˜•. Must be scary for them.

  16. Nice bouquet. I did the same with my alium recently and it does look like fireworks. Happy 4th of July.

  18. Absolutely perfect for July 4th and they don’t scare the dogs!! Brilliant.

As I sit in my home office and listen to what sounds like a war zone outside, I can only wish all firework displays were floral! It’s hard to believe that fireworks (including the “safe and sane” ones) are banned here and a failure to abide by the various local ordinances carries fines when they’ve been going off continuously since the early afternoon hours 😦

  21. Well choreographed, Eliza! What a creative way to celebrate Independence Day. Hope you had a great holiday!

  22. Maria I's avatar Maria I says:

    Amazing how allium resembles fireworks.

  23. Perfect! I just realized it’s not dill! Too early for dill flowers?

  24. Cathy's avatar Cathy says:

Great fireworks display Eliza! Hope you had a happy 4th July!

Thank you, I did. Went to a BBQ at my niece’s and I was really good about not eating all the stuff that is not good for me, ha! πŸ˜‰

  25. gwenniesgardenworld's avatar gwenniesgardenworld says:

This is the kind of fireworks I love, not the noisy varient. If the real firworks would be silent and safe it would be so much better.

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Thank you, I agree. There is a movement to create noise-free fireworks as well as many fire prone cities are moving towards laser light shows. A welcome change!

      • gwenniesgardenworld's avatar gwenniesgardenworld says:

Fire works are dangerous and make many victims each year, also in the companies where they are produced. The problems is that people love the noice as well. Ilove laser light shows !!!

  26. The best kind of firework–beautiful to look at and noiseless.

  27. Much prefer your fireworks compared to what our poor dogs suffer through out here!

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Even illegal and as dangerous as they are, it is impossible to police those who use them. So their use continues, and grows. Apparently, the rate is doubling every year in some places.

  28. Yes … perfect for Independence Day … love it!
