A light dusting of snow is magical. Lovely!

  3. The trees wear the snow so well!

  4. Dale's avatar Dale says:

Perfect title for these images, Eliza. They truly are enchanting.

  5. Joanne's avatar Joanne says:

Your photos look like mythical scenes from a fairyland, Eliza. So beautiful. ❤

  6. Anne's avatar Anne says:

While these scenes look beautiful to me, I can’t help imagining the cold that goes with it!

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Thanks, Anne. If one has warm clothing and boots, it isn’t all that bad. It is lovely to walk through the woods after a new snow fall. I actually enjoy winter for its crisp air! But of course, I have a warm house and cuppa to return to. 😉

  7. germac4's avatar germac4 says:

Absolutely lovely! I saw snow falling for the first time when I was 18 years old, and I couldn’t get over how silent it was… and beautiful!

  8. Enchanting, indeed – all three

Hi Eliza. A fairytale land indeed. Unfortunately we have brought the British weather back to France, rain and gales. But I am sitting in bed with a cup of tea on a lazy Sunday morning watching the fire – what’s not to like!

    Wonderful snowy landscapes.

  11. picpholio's avatar picpholio says:

    Winter wonderland 🙂

  12. Alice's avatar Alice says:

What a lovely view…and so private….can you see that from your plant room? Such a variety of trees and shrubs, and a spruce tree that looks maybe 6 years old.

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Thank you, Alice. Views of the back and side yards, north and east (the sun room faces south). The small tree was actually our Christmas tree which we put out for the birds to use for cover. It’s losing its needles and will head to the compost soon. 🙂

  13. An enchanting wonderland — I do miss the snow! Thanks for sharing these lovely scenes.

  14. Enjoy every moment.

Are these current photos? Unbelievable, and gorgeous.

  16. A beautiful winter wonderland! 💙

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Probably not the last… we still have March to get through. But with the sun higher and the days warmer, most melts quickly. This was off the trees by the end of the day on Friday.

  17. A winter wonderland! Sure doesn’t look that way here. Looks more like the beginning of April in central Maine.

  18. greendreamsswe's avatar Maria says:

Very beautiful and enchanting, even though I long for spring now 🙂

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

With our shorter and milder winters, it hasn’t been so bad. Matter of fact, on some level I feel kind of cheated by not having had a ‘real’ winter… crazy, I know!
With the advent of ticks in our area in the past 10-20 years, I’ve come to dread spring as they emerge at around 45ºF. The diligence required to keep them off us and the dog is taxing. 😦

  19. tomwhelan's avatar tomwhelan says:

Lovely image – there are few things more striking than the woods after snowfall.

  20. There is something very cozy looking about the landscape covered in fresh snow. Lovely photos, Eliza!

  21. Widdershins's avatar Widdershins says:

I love that look when there’s a heavy fog/mist and it freezes on all the branches 😀 … quite different just a snowfall. 😀

  22. Love the icy tracery!

  23. Your photos are enchanting, Eliza! I can feel the icy cold just looking at them…

  24. That’s what a late February day should look like! It’s sunny, windy, and 65 degrees here! 😦

  25. krispeterson100's avatar krispeterson100 says:

When I see a clean white blanket of snow like this, I immediately think that, as it melts away, spring will deliver a fresh start. Whether that’s true or not I don’t know but I hope that’ll be the case!

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Referred to as ‘poor man’s fertilizer’, some believe that there is trace nitrogen in it, but I don’t know how valid that is. I have read however, that all precipitation now has micro-plastics in it… now isn’t that a cheery thought? :-/

  26. Cathy's avatar Cathy says:

Just enough to make the garden look magical, and not too much to become a nuisance. That is how I like snow! 😃
