Silent Sunday – Pink Cyclamen
This entry was posted in Country Gardening, My Photos and tagged cyclamen, indoor gardening, Silent Sunday. Bookmark the permalink.

So pretty
Thank you, Sanjay.
I have had no luck growing cyclamens – have probably over-watered them – so it is pleasing to see these beautiful blooms.
Thank you, Anne. I let them dry out a bit before watering, and they only grow and bloom in the winter. In the warmth of spring, they go dormant. No water and rest for six months until it grows cool again. I just shove them in a corner of the porch all summer and ignore them until I see leaves emerging in the fall and start watering them again. Pretty easy!
Thank you for this. Perhaps I should try them again.
I find greater success with the miniatures than the standard. Those I seem to kill, ha!
Now that is a lovely color. 😊
Thanks, it really brightens my winter days!
Perfection!
Thank you, Dale!
💞
Pweety 😀
🙂 Thank you, Dawn!
A pleasure 🙏🏽💗🙏🏽
Sweet.
Thank you, Cindy. It is a winter favorite.
Lovely
Thank you, Sheree!
Pleasure Eliza
Bold!! Cyclamen were meant for it though 😉
They really brighten the dreary winter days. 🙂
Nicely lit
Thank you, Derrick. Thanks for stopping by!
My first sight of these as winter bedding plants in my area amazed me.
They are really marvelous in the cool season. My cool sunspace is perfect for them.
Beautiful pictures..You know where to focus..
Thank you!
You are welcome! 🙂
I love Cyclamen- so pretty!
Thank you, Debra. It is one of my most steadfast winter bloomers, smells like bubblegum, too!
So pretty! So pink!
Thanks, Barbara. I’ve had this plant for years and it always performs marvelously every winter. A joy to see.
Fabulously frilly February flowers!
Nice alliteration! Thanks, Alice. 🙂
Your Cyclamen are a joyful sight! Who would know that Valentine’s Day comes later this week? Thank you for bringing a smile on first thing this morning! ❤ ❤ ❤
Thank you, E! Have a great week. 🙂 💖
❤ 😉
We add them to our beds in the winter. Mine is gone already.
They must make a beautiful bedding plant!
Yes, but they are expensive so I don’t fill an entire bed.
Love the February sunlight … spring is nearly here 🎊
It feels that way… thanks, Val!
Beautiful back lighting, Eliza! Have a sun-filled Sunday.
Thank you, Monika!
Hi Eliza. Flowers, yay!!!! Just what’s needed on a grey, dreary, gloomy, miserable, wet, muddy day in England!! Can’t you tell I am longing to get back to France. MJ
Gray days get old really fast! We get so starved for color that these plants become a lifeline. 🙂
I need to make a run to the garden center now with 6-10 more inches of snow I need color your plant is gorgeous.
Thank you, Eunice. A bit of color in winter is as important as food!
Sure is! I will hit a nursery after all the snow is cleaned up on Wednesday.
Nice to see some bright color!
It certainly brightens my winter days… thanks, Sandy!
My pleasure, Eliza.
Lovely light on the beautiful flowers – and such warm rich colors.
Thank you, Tom!

Thank you, Susan!
That pink colour is a real energy boost !
Indeed… I love it when it blooms, very reliably!
One of my favorites!
Thank you, Laurie!
What a happy sight 😊
Glad you liked it! 🙂
Lovely and cheerful. Perfect color for this week!
Thank you, Tina! 🙂
Ah, hopefulness for things to come!
It gives me something to focus upon until spring arrives. 🙂
Pretty
Thank you, Karina!
This is blooming NOW?? Awesome! It must be so encouraging, in the midst of winter, to see actual flowers in bloom. Here, we might have a warm-ish day now and then, but we know it will be months before Spring really arrives.
Yes, it is… I have an indoor sunspace garden to keep me cheered through the long winter. I go stir-crazy without it. 🙂
Beautiful image to brighten February!
Yes, we must feed our eyes as well as our stomachs! 😀
The beautiful colour brings some much needed cheer on a rainy winter day…
Absolutely! Thanks, Kim.
So cheerful!
Thank you, Kris, it definitely helps my mood!
Does this mean your garden is beginning to turn green and flowery again, Eliza? Dare I hope for you that it is? ❤
No, still snowy out there. I have an indoor garden/sunspace. It is a life saver in winter. 🙂
A river of pink. I love cyclamen so much. First one I ever saw was a potted plant inside a Chinese restaurant. Yours is lovely in the sun.
Thank you, Susie. I’ve had this one many years, a fine old friend!
What a beauty. I’ve never had any success growing Cyclamens in the past. I’ll try the advice which you’ve given to Anne. (I suspect I overwatered them).
Thanks, Vicki. I think the key is to stop watering them when they start to droop and turn yellow, indicating their dormant period is starting. They really dislike warm temps and sleep all summer!
I thought the yellowing leaves meant they were dying and gave them even more water. 😀
Oh, yikes! Nope, time for their summer nap!
Thank you for sharing your cheering cyclamen, Eliza. It’s such a pretty plant.
Thank you for saying so! 🩷
Beauty!
Thank you, Rupali!
I see lots of pretty hearts!
Good eye! 🩷
Your pictures are beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you!
Pretty color and back-lighting!
Thank you, Denise. It’s definitely a winter favorite for its months of blooms.
