Pretty bare branches and a bright blue sky – a nice winter day in the woods!
So grateful for days like these! Thanks, Tom.
This is something I love doing.
Looking up is good for the brain. 🙂
Look at all of that blue sky?
Is the ground still white though, Eliza?
So nice to see the sun after weeks of gray. Yes, we still have several inches of crunchy snow left, but the warmer days are working on it.
I love days like these
Same here, nothing like that deep blue after so much gray. 🙂 🌞
Waiting in my part of the world. Snowy and white as far as the eye can see.
Is that so? I don’t believe I know just where you live? Our ground still has several inches of crusty snow on it. Good for walking about, nice days to do so, too.
Hope floats upward. Beautiful
Thank you, Cindy. Hope the weather is being kind to you at the Holler. 🙏🏼
Crown shyness? Sculptural branches leaving space for the beautiful blue sky!
One of my favorite winter views. 🙂
The wisdom and beauty of trees.
Indeed. 🌳💙
Quite a view! (And the stars are there, twinkling)….it’s been enjoyable to see the blue sky, after all the clouds.
Yes, blessed blue!
There can be quite a competition for light among plants and trees.
Very true!
It’s common for people to refer to bare trees as the bones of winter, but here they look like arteries.
Yes, very true! The repeating patterns of nature, trees and river deltas.
So bare! I have trees leafing out and others just loosing their leaves. We must rake all winter. In a couple of weeks the big winter cleanup begins with all the lawn crews raking out our beds. I do my own.
Yes! You must remember this winter feature from your former residence in the north. 🙂
Have you ever considered letting the leaves act as mulch? It’s all the rage nowadays!
I actually let them stay in the beds during the winter and luckily I have a wooded area to dump leaves into, which helps to keep the trees moist all summer. We live in a deed restriction community, so I will have to get the front cleaned up.
Ah, yes, don’t want to upset the neighbors! 😉
Lovely image. I like bare trees against blue sky (Suzanne)
Thanks, Suzanne. One good thing about our winters. 🙂
I love these kinds of shots!
Thank you, Dale. Looking up has its rewards. 🙂
That it does!
Bluebird clear skies…so pretty.
Thank you, Monika. I love days like this, not as common here as you see out there. 🙂
They certainly make the long days of winter easier to take. Even if it’s super cold, it doesn’t feel so icky if there are cloudless blue skies. 🌞
A beautiful day! Cheers to many more to come.
Thank you, Maria. Each sunny day feels like a gift!
Why yes, we are on the same wavelength today!
GMTA!
Wow, just look at that brilliant blue sky!! We’ve got tall, bare trees, but a sky like that is a rarity — thanks for reminding me!
It has been a rarity this winter, it seems. I just looked at the satellite of the US clouds and it looks rather unsettled out your way!
Unlike some people, trees appear to be very cooperative.
Needs must! 😉
Love bare branches against blue skies. Happiness! 😉
Truly! Thanks, Pepper!
Magnificent! Love the upshot shot, Eliza!
Thank you, Donna!
Lovely to see the branches against the blue sky!
Thanks, Belinda. Love the stark contrast!
I love the bare trees of winter. It gives us the opportunity to see their structure. Nice shot!
Thanks, Denise. Dormancy reveals their special beauty.
That’s a good way of putting it!
I love these kind of different perspective/skyward shots. Interesting lessons to be learned too …
Thank you, Allison. It is good to look up! 🙂
I wonder what they’re chatting about?
What birds will nest in their ‘hair’ this spring? 😉
So important to look up!
Indeed! 🙂
