  3. Very impressive, Eliza! 🙂

  4. Dale's avatar Dale says:

That’s so cool because the first one looks like it’s in 3D and is sticking out rather than in. Love the super effects you’ve been giving us 😉

  5. Debbie's avatar Debbie says:

Great capture, Eliza! Looks like a puffy leaf.

  6. Alice's avatar Alice says:

They do look raised, not sunken…like Dale wrote. Looks like cutouts for a Thanksgiving pie. Also, the top photo looks like an animal, head on the left, mouth open.

  7. sandyjwhite's avatar sandyjwhite says:

What a great find! Love it.

  8. Very cool in so many ways.

That is amazing! So glad you spotted it. 😊👏

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Thank you, Pepper. I did a double take and took a step back to check it out, then pulled out the camera to capture the impression. You know how that goes! 🙂

What an amazing sight. You must have eagle eyes to spot that one.
It is amazing and a good example of the simple beauty that surrounds us in nature.

Lovely images – I love how snow simplifies the scene, and the way shadows appear in it.

Thank you, Donna. FYI, I’m still finding your comments in spam, even though I have approved you many times. Not sure about WP!

      • I noticed that last couple didn’t show up when I submitted them. I don’t have any problems with yours, but I have a few others that have followed my for a long time going into my pending approval folder and I don’t know why. I did write an email about a week ago through their link and they never replied to me. Geez, it is frustrating. And I am getting ready to renew for $300….I think. I keep thinking about just quitting, tired of the problems.

      • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Oh, dear, I hope not, as I would miss you and your wonderful photos. They do use a lot of MBs I guess. I’ve been saving space by adjusting my photos to 800.

      • My space isn’t a problem. Just frustrated with the commenting and likes button having so many issues. I have a hundred comments out there in limbo somewhere I guess, lol I don’t think the issues will ever stop…

      • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

I have found that I cannot comment directly on folks’ site, only through the Reader… not ideal, but it works.

      • How do you find where you left off on Reader? When I load again, it shows the latest, and I have to scroll back way too far, and still can’t find where I left off.

      • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Sometimes you just have to let the oldies go. 🙂 However, if you want to see a particular person’s older posts, search for them in the Reader, then there is a 3-dot widget on the right that opens to select that says ‘open in Reader.’

  23. shoreacres's avatar shoreacres says:

Amazing. In the first photo, the leaf seems raised; in the second, it appears sunken. In both, the cleanly detailed outline is what caught my eye.

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Thank you, Linda. The combination of fine snow packed firmly, then the brisk wind that blew away the leaf isn’t as common as the impressions we get when the leaf warms in spring and melts the surrounding snow, a more icy look. Fun to see the differences!

  24. Isha Garg's avatar Isha Garg says:

Oh my goodness, Eliza, I love these so much ❤️

  25. greendreamsswe's avatar Maria says:

Love it! I organised a hunt for geometric shapes in the snow at work (kindergarten) earlier this week. So much fun!

  26. As hard as I stare at that first picture, I cannot make it sink into the snow !
