Beautiful crystals!
Thank you, Anne. Ice is so ‘cool!’ 😉
These photos are both abstract art and a reminder of what a wonderful substance water is.
Thank you, Audrey, you got it! I’m drawn in every time. 🙂
More icey images, and so different to your others! Your ice quest continues … 🙂
Thank you, Joanne, depending on the conditions, there are many different forms and patterns of ice. Ephemeral art!
Fascinating natural intricacy.
Thank you, Cindy. I love ice patterns!
Ice is very fascinating. My little sister Josefine and I used to go on “ice hunting expeditions” as kids, where we observed different patterns on ice that we found close to our house. We could be busy doing this for many hours at a time. Great photos!
Thank you, Maria. You completely understand the fascination!
Those images are magical.
Thank you, Laura!
Hi Eliza. Stunning. Very cold! After too much rain we are now getting chilly here too, but not as much as you I suspect.
MJ
Thank you, MJ. It hasn’t been too cold, a couple of nights got to -5C, but days rise to around 0, so perfect for a nice walk. 🙂
Beautiful. Art. Great shots Eliza!
Thank you, Dawn! I love ice formations. 🙂
I Can see, you’ve taken great shots!!!
🙏🏼 🤗
Oh, what a fun time you had, enjoying Mother Nature’s and Jack Frost’s intriguing handiwork! There’s an icy ❤️ near the left bottom of 3rd photo.
Aren’t they fun? They are all under the snow now, so I’m glad I got out for a few shots.
Such spellbinding patterns!
Agreed, I could have taken a hundred shots and no two would be alike. Love it!
The details of all the lines in the ice is wonderful. 😊
Thank you, Pepper!
Nature is the best. Did you get snow?
Absolutely… yes, it is still snowing, until late afternoon, about 5″ so far.
My favorite is the one with the branch. It looks like a flower viewed from the bottom.
Thank you, Linda!
Interesting, almost mesmerizing. Great photos.
Thank you, Diana, I find them endlessly fascinating.
Always love those cold patterns such a lovely sign of winter in the north.
Thank you, Laurie. Glad I went out yesterday before the snow covered it all up!
We have got about six inches here, and it’s still snowing. But it’s light and fluffy and so pretty.
Same here, much easier for moving, yay!
That is some beautiful icy art, Eliza!
Thank you, Dale. Now blanketed with snow! Have you had much up your way?
Amazing how detailed it is. So pretty!
Thank you, Sandy. If I had the ability, it would be cool to take a time lapse watching the ice grow into these patterns.
That would be fascinating.
The patterns look so brittle and cold — brrrrr!
That it is! 😉
Just incredible!
🙂 Thanks, Gary!
I don’t like walking or driving on ice, but observing it is a wonderful thing because it is always different and it makes one think of Mother Nature and her art pieces.
Same here, hope you are cozy up there, enjoying the snowfall. 🙂
Oops, I just remembered that you are far from the storm, hopefully enjoying a nice day at the beach!
Great images Eliza.
Thank you, Karina!
Beautiful … but oh, brr! They rather look like etchings, don’t you think?
Thank you, Debbie, they do!
Wow! It’s amazing what nature can create!
Indeed, I totally agree!
So beautiful Eliza!
Thank you, Sylvia! ❄️
I love this series. Beautiful and there’s also something magical about them. 🙂
Thank you, Robin. Kind of reminded me of fireworks going off. 🙂
Beautiful photo, Eliza. It’s especially nice in muted tones.
Thank you, Tina!
Icy cool! did you get snow?
Thank you, Amy. Yes, about 9″ of light and fluffy (phew! I loathe the heavy stuff 😉 )
Enjoy the quiet. I hope you have some nice soup on hand!
Yes, it has been so nice and quiet, very few vehicles going by. Very pretty, too! Bone broth simmering as I type… 😉
I’d have never known that icy weather could create such beauty if it hadn’t been for your photos, Eliza.
Thank you, Kris– music to my ears, since sharing the beauty of nature is my sole motivation. 🙂
A photographer I know calls this kind of frozen surface “Picasso ice”. Lovely image, wish the streams near me would freeze so I could see ice like this.
Thank you, Tom. It has been a winter slow in coming, but western MA seems to be just enough colder than eastern MA. We got 9″ of snow today, a winter wonderland!
I’d forgotten you were in western MA! We got 6 or 7 inches, but with sunny weather and temps in the mid 30s, it’s melting today (Monday).
Fractured and splintered but never broken. Beautiful 🤩
Thank you, Val! 🙂
Wow…just wow. Nature provides some amazing sights.
Thank you, Monika and thank heaven for that!
So pretty!!
Thank you, Donna!
I also love observing ice but hate having to drive in it. You make winter look pretty.
Thank you, Eunice. Finding beauty is the best way to get through winter. 😉
The abstraction in nature is a wonder to observe.
Absolutely! Thanks, Susie!
I apologize ahead of time for the pun…Very cool! We have had very little winter weather yet…nice see these patterns.
Pun expected and accepted! Thanks, Mic. 🙂
😊
Fabulous patterns.
Thank you, I can easily get lost in the intricate designs!
Beautiful photos and love the ice patterns, you must have a magical stream!!🙂
So many streams around here and with all the rain, lots of seeps as well. All the rain last night washed the ice away and this weekend when the temps drop the ice will start over again. More to see in the nature’s ice art gallery!
So beautiful!
Thank you!
Great find and capture … love the pattern and highlights!
Thank you, Denise!
Love these, Eliza. The patterns are fascinating!
Thank you, Jane. 💕
Ice makes wonderful abstracts and these are full of interesting patterns and designs..
Thank you, Steve!
