What a beauty!
Pingback: Wordless Wednesday – Tiger Swallowtail | Purplerays
She is so beautiful. I know from photos what their caterpillar-kids look like, but have not seen any. We are fortunate to have butterflies on our planet.
So true, thanks, Alice. At least we have lots of their host plants! 😉
Gorgeousness with wings!!!
Yes, indeed! 🙂
Such lovely creatures. The other day, I saw one in our yard.
Nice, I love seeing them flutter through, visiting various blooms. Winged happiness!
What a beauty! I love the way the leaves are fanning out is echoing the butterfly’s wingspread.
Thank you, Barbara. They are delightful to see.
Lucky you! I haven’t seen any so thanks for sharing.
Glad to do so, thanks, Judy. Hope some visit you soon.
Lovely composition! Beauty of a butterfly.
Thank you, Dale. Our largest butterfly, always a cheering thing to see.
I bet!
I have been seeing frequently and am hoping it is a healthy year for them.
Same here, the numbers aren’t what they once were, so hoping for a good year.
Tyger Tyger, burning bright,
In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
Ha, thanks for the poetry, Steve! 🙂
You’d actually have to thank William Blake. That’s hard to do without a time machine, given that he’s been dead for two centuries,
Love spotting these gems!
Thank you, Sandy. They do brighten my day, for sure.
These beautiful butterflies are always a joy to behold. I saw a few before winter returned, but wasn’t able to get a photo. I’m hoping for more of them soon, and for their willingness to sit still long enough for me to snap a picture.
Definitely our largest and splashiest one here, always am happy to see one flitting over the garden.

🙂
♥️❤️🤗♥️❤️
🙂 thanks!
What a beauty Eliza! 💛
Thank you kindly, Xenia. 🤗
Beautiful! And I bet you didn’t have to go to an enclosed butterfly pavilion to get that photo either 😉
Thanks, Kris! Ha, no, I didn’t. I’m fortunate to have a mini-lepidopterary right in the back yard.
What a gorgeous capture!
Thank you, MB! Hope you are doing well. 🙂
How gorgeous! Your yard must be a magnet for these lovelies!!
Thank you, Debbie. They are frequent visitors here, and I try to lay out a varied buffet. 🙂
A beautiful butterfly
Thank you, Karina. It is a bright spot in the garden this time of year.
Gorgeous ✨
Thank you, Karen! ❤
Lovely. We’ve only had a handful of butterflies so far. Just one of these . Hoping for Black Swallowtail larvae to be chomping our parsley.
Thanks, Steve. I’ve seen a few about (or maybe the same one over and over??) My stand of self-sown dill is ready for any BSWs that might come by.
Always a pleasure to see these beauties!
Thank you, Belinda, I certainly agree!
Beautiful! On Honeysuckle?
Thank you, Allison! Yes, we have a lot of invasive Tatarian honeysuckle, but the insects and birds love it.
Welcome back, beauty!
Yes! 🙂
Magnificent!
Thank you, Sylvia!
How great to find this… maybe in your garden!
Yes, they flit all around our garden. A happy sight to see!
Beautiful!!🙂 They always make me stop what I’m doing so I can watch them.🙂
Thanks, they definitely are eye-catching!
Awesome shot and may I say … I enjoy seeing how much you appreciate the beauty of the season!
Thank you very much, Denise! 🙂
A lovely butterfly, beautifully captured. 😊
Thank you, Pepper!
Oh wow, how beautiful.
Thank you, Jill. One of our biggest butterflies, always a joy to see. 🙂
Wow! What a beautiful visitor…we have yet to see such beauty although Terry recently spied a dragonfly…
Thanks, Kim. So far it’s been a promising year for butterflies. Perhaps it was all the rain we got last summer, lots of food and moist habitat.
A blissful summer moment, how absolutely lovely, Eliza.
Thank you, Jet. It seems to be a good year for them, hurrah.
We’ve got them here and now, bobbing along on this incessant wind!
They must really get buffeted!
Yup!!💓
🙂
Beautiful 🙂
Thank you, Deepa!
