Eliza: a very happy and beautiful 2018 to you and your family & pets….thank you so much for sharing all your beautiful photos and flower arrangements …..it’s always something to look forward to when I see an email from you! Looking forward to flowers & butterflies and everything else that nature will bring.
Thank you for your faithful friendship and shared love of gardens and ‘winged flowers’, Alice. It is greatly appreciated!
That owl looks none too happy!
Yes, I messed up his hunting scheme!
Thank you for sharing these beautiful highlights of the year and your wonderful view. Almost impossible to choose a favorite, but with our cold weather I think the ice image is perfect for today. Have a wonderful new year!🙂
Thank you so much! 🙂
Happy new year, Eliza 🙂 xo
Thank you, Rebecca! ❤
Ah, good times!!! You’ve chosen some beautiful images for your retrospective. What a contrast between ice & snow shots and your beautiful arrangements.
Thank you, Micheal. The seasons sure are different aren’t they? It was therapeutic to look through the summer pix when the garden was in full force and the temps kinder that the current frigid blast we’ve been enduring. The forecast isn’t all that promising, either. 😦
I read of your frigid weather. We continue to have warmer than usual weather, which is not great. Still awaiting some decent rain.
I’d share if I could! 😉
Eliza, thank you for sharing all your beautiful photos – I always enjoy them.
Happy New Year to you and yours! ❤️
Many thanks, Betty!
Beautiful photos Eliza and have a Happy New Year!

That’s a beautiful retrospective, Eliza! I don’t remember the owl but he (or she) is particularly charming. Best wishes for the new year!
Thank you, Kris. Looking forward to sharing the year ahead!
The Horned Owl and Male Monarch are remarkable. Knowing how difficult it is totake pictures of animals, we callourselves always lucky and glad to get a good shot of them.
All the best for 2018, Eliza!
Thank you very much!
Best wishes to you too Eliza. Lovely to see your retrospective collection showing the patterns thro’ the seasons. I so enjoy starting my week with your Monday flower arrangements as well as your portrayal of nature in the woods thro’ the seasons. Am so fascinated by the incredible sculpted beauty of your ice and snow scenes.
Thank you very much, Liz. Ice and snow and frigid temps we have in spades! 😉
Beautiful flowers, but my favorites are the horned owl (looking so serious!) and the Monarchs. Happy and Healthy 2018 Eliza!

Thank you, there is a name for that type of mutation that escapes me right now (!). It most often happens in the composite family.

Thank you very much, Belinda. Looking forward to see what the muse brings us this year!
All lovely. How ever did you manage to capture such a great photo of the owl?
Thank you, Wendy. The owl showed up in my backyard one afternoon. Approaching slowly, I was able to get a few shots before he took off. It was a memorable visit!
A serendipitous moment.
Really, really beautiful Eliza. Happy New Year.

Lovely photos to celebrate 2017! Tell me, how does one identify that Monarch as a male?
Thank you, Lizzy! Male monarchs have a mid-vein dot on their hind wings.
What a beautiful reminder of all we have been given! 🙂

Such beautiful photos!! Thank you for sharing! It feels like a little bit of Spring brought to me in the midst of a blustery Winter!❤ Every season has something beautiful about it! 😀 I love the pink flowers! Very pretty! And the owl is so cute! I never see any real ones in person!
Thank you, Kim. It’s true that every season has its beauty. We’re lucky to enjoy four/year!
Yes, I frequently give thanks for living in a place with so much diversity of weather! Right now, the freezing cold in Philadelphia, Pa, is not the most pleasant to be out in! But I love the warm, cozy feeling of being wrapped up in warm clothes and drinking hot tea/coffee/cocoa! And love the snow! Also, I think the fleeting nature of the seasons makes them all the more beautiful!💜
Agreed!
I love your highlights of 2017, specially that funky owl. Happy New Year Eliza.
