Okay, obviously, these flowers didn’t come from my garden (seen in the background on a mild, foggy day last week). But can you blame this flower lover for wanting some Winter Relief from all the snowy, cold weather?
I was gifted with an armload of flowers (hallelujah!) and out came my large Polish glass vase, the only one large enough to hold them all.
Made up of white and fuchsia-pink daisy mums, deep pink alstroemeria, and chartreuse hydrangea, I’m a happy camper every time I look at them!

A beauty !
How very cheerful! What a great winter gift!
It really is, a great delight!
Beautifully cheerful and bright – a sharp contrast to what you have outdoors!
Yes, indeed. Thanks, Anne. I do miss green grass and flowers!
Looks great with the snowy backdrop Eliza!!
Thank you, Karen. It really shows the contrast, doesn’t it?
What beauties 💐💐💐
While the flowers are beautiful, I do like both the shape and colours of the vase.
Thank you, Brian. That vase is a treasure, but so large, I don’t get to use it much. It spends most of its life on a shelf as an ‘objet d’art.’
Such wonderful contrasts! They really ZING
Thank you, Maureen. One really needs it after all the gray!
Wonderful! There is nothing like a huge cheerful bouquet in the midst of winter. 🙂
Yes, so true. It cheers the winter-weary soul. Thanks, Cathy!
I don’t blame you at all Eliza; all that whiteness can become just too much.
It really does. Right about mid-January, it gets to me and I want to book the next flight out to a sunny clime, just to see green growing things and flowers! Alas, I have months more to go.
I’m longing for the tulips that are in the greenhouse.
I hear ya!
A lovely splash of colour!
It is a real contrast to the monotonous gray of the landscape!
Lovely, just what you need on a cold winter’ s day. I love the vase too.
Thank you, Chloris.

Thanks for reblogging!
Stunning photograph, Eliza…reminding us of the return of summer…
Thank you kindly. Yes, I am beginning to yearn for spring and all things green. 🙂
shouldn’t be long now, we have a blackbird singing at dawn now, so he knows!
Our spring is still 3 months out. 😦
I would have thought ours was too, I mean, it’s still only January. But it seems nature has other ideas, she can’t be wrong, can she?
Hope you didn’t leave them outside too long, their scent might have woken up some sleepy 🐝 🐝 🐝 😮😶😹
It was so dark inside that day I needed the outdoor light. It was in the 40s and raining, so they were okay for the few minutes being outside. 🙂
A winter delight! And that vase is stunning. It even has some Maya blue in it 😉
Thank you, Laurie. Yes, a lovely blue it is, too. I’m about halfway through Maya and enjoying it. A terrific romp. Well done, ‘Cuz!
Thank you, Sylvia.
Lovely bouquet so full of colours for a season that doesn’t have much…(Suzanne)
Thank you, Suzanne. We do get a little color-starved in winter, eh?
What a wonderful and dramatic presentation! 😊
Thank you, Dor!
The vase is just the right shape and colour for them – and size, as you said. Thanks for sharing them and continue to enjoy the pleasure they have brought you
Thank you, Cathy, that I will.
Gorgeous! I should really pick up some flowers. We’re actually going to be at home all week and the weekend, so I will even get to enjoy them! And we could certainly use some brightening up from the gray and white outside!
Thank you, Sarah. It does work its magic. Maybe you could bring a small vase in for your desk at work? It’d brighten your day (beyond having Choppy’s company, of course. 😉 )
That’s where I love to have flowers the most – they just make the office feel a little less work-like and serve as a reminder of life elsewhere.
When I saw your post title in my feed, I wondered for a moment if you’d created an ice sculpture of a flower. The bouquet of reds and whites is beautiful and looks sublime against the snowy background. Stay warm, Eliza!
Thank you, Kris. January is always the toughest month to get through for me. I welcome the abundance of color!
Beautiful arrangement. A lovely reminder of more to come!
Yes! Thanks, Belinda!
No I don’t blame you, I’m drinking them in too.
My favorite vase of yours! and a lovely relief.
So much colour! Thanks, Eliza, for sharing such a beautiful vase!
Thank you kindly, Anca!
What a fabulous vase…and aren’t friends bearing bouquets just the best?
Absolutely. Thanks, Rickii. 🙂
How gorgeous, Eliza. So pleasing!
Thank you, Jane!
How very pretty!
Thank you, Fi!
Lovely! A perfect gift for a gardener, especially in the winter. Thanks for passing on the joy!
Thank you, Peter! My pleasure. 🙂
Very pretty and I like that you included the wintry background in your first images. Flowers are a good cure for a gloomy winter day.
Thank you, Denise. Wasn’t that just the gloomiest day? Provided a great contrast to the flowers. Winter balm!
A lovely sight, Eliza – nothing like flowers on a winter day! I’ve been buying a bouquet a week at Trader Joe’s – a visual lifesaver on dark gloomy days.
Thanks, Lynn. They a lifesaver, indeed! When I looked at this photo, I was astounded at how dull the background was, like I had made it B&W, with only the vase in color!
OH what I would do to have flowers like this in my house, Eliza!!! Beautiful! Just beautiful! My cats eat flowers so nope I never can have fresh cut flowers in my house. *pout* What I don’t do for my cats. And you know how much I LOVE flowers! 🙂 ❤
Thank you, Amy. You need not live without flowers or plants! Here’s a list that is A-OK: http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control/toxic-and-non-toxic-plants?field_non_toxicity_value%5B%5D=02
Lovely. Apart from being beautiful, I love the way that the glass vase wraps around the flower stems and supports them discreetly. Great colours for a snowy backdrop too.
Thank you, Allison. It’s one of my favorite vases, a work of art in and of itself.
Such a festive burst of color Eliza! Enjoy!
Thank you, Kathy! I need it as we’re in for more ‘wintry mix’… blah!
wow amazing! Your posts cheered me up tonight.
Glad to hear it! Thanks for stopping by.
