In A Vase On Monday – Winter Relief

img_6701Okay, obviously, these flowers didn’t come from my garden (seen in the background on a mild, foggy day last week). But can you blame this flower lover for wanting some Winter Relief from all the snowy, cold weather?

I was gifted with an armload of flowers (hallelujah!) and out came my large Polish glass vase, the only one large enough to hold them all.

img_6705Made up of white and fuchsia-pink daisy mums, deep pink alstroemeria, and chartreuse hydrangea, I’m a happy camper every time I look at them!

img_6704Cathy at Rambling In the Garden, hosts a weekly meme to showcase arrangements created from our gardens. Wander over to see what gardeners all over the world are arranging this week. In the UK, for instance, snowdrops and aconites are already blooming!

  17. Gorgeous! I should really pick up some flowers. We’re actually going to be at home all week and the weekend, so I will even get to enjoy them! And we could certainly use some brightening up from the gray and white outside!

When I saw your post title in my feed, I wondered for a moment if you’d created an ice sculpture of a flower. The bouquet of reds and whites is beautiful and looks sublime against the snowy background. Stay warm, Eliza!

Lovely! A perfect gift for a gardener, especially in the winter. Thanks for passing on the joy!

  27. Very pretty and I like that you included the wintry background in your first images. Flowers are a good cure for a gloomy winter day.

  28. A lovely sight, Eliza – nothing like flowers on a winter day! I’ve been buying a bouquet a week at Trader Joe’s – a visual lifesaver on dark gloomy days.

    • Eliza Waters says:

Thanks, Lynn. They a lifesaver, indeed! When I looked at this photo, I was astounded at how dull the background was, like I had made it B&W, with only the vase in color!

  29. AmyRose🌹 says:

OH what I would do to have flowers like this in my house, Eliza!!! Beautiful! Just beautiful! My cats eat flowers so nope I never can have fresh cut flowers in my house. *pout* What I don’t do for my cats. And you know how much I LOVE flowers! 🙂 ❤

  30. Lovely. Apart from being beautiful, I love the way that the glass vase wraps around the flower stems and supports them discreetly. Great colours for a snowy backdrop too.

  31. Kathy Sturr says:
