Thank you! This is an eastern US native, Roseshell Azalea (Rhododendron prinophyllum), also sometimes called Swamp Pink.
I can see the Azalea now, but not as its familiar to me. It’s beautiful!
It is sweet-scented and sadly, increasingly threatened in the wild. I’m fortunate to have one.
