Spam

spamSpam (and I’m not referring to the processed meat product), can be a pain to deal with. No one likes hitting delete over and over. Thus, the birth of that great tool, the spam filter. However, sometimes we innocents ourselves get caught in spam filters. Many of you (mostly folks that have upgraded websites), have told me that you have found my comments in your spam folders. I have contacted WP and Akismet, and supposedly, they are processing my investigation. That may take a while! You can help the process by checking your folders and if you find me, please not-spam and approve me, so we can continue our conversation. Thank you!

Yes! It was weird to find 2 lovely comments from you in my spam folder, which I did immediately un spam and approve. Thank you for your comments! I hope this gets worked out soon.

  2. My computer would never dare to relegate your lovely posts and comments to the SPAM folder Eliza. The trick with machines is to show no fear. It’s when they sense fear that they’ll byte you 8^)

  3. ladygrace33 says:

I too found your comments in the spam folder a while ago. Hit approve an not spam and haven’t had that problem again 🙂

  4. Debra says:

Yes. I was horrified to see your comments in my spam box. I thought: oh no, she probably thinks I’ve been ignoring her!

  5. Thanks for letting us know! I like the comment by Frank- to show no fear with computers! That is going to be my motto!

I will be on the alert!

    Dear processed canned meat,
You came through loud and clear.
    Thank you 🙂

Except for your 3 recents comments which I found in my Spam bucket, the last comment of yours to show up on my blog was July 10! Just as you say, a tool you can’t trust causes more work, not less work.

Thanks for bringing this to the attention of WP.

  9. Murtagh's Meadow says:

Yes Eliza some of your comments were in my spam box too – have now ‘not spammed’ – oh technology, wonderful when it works pain when it gets it wrong!

  10. arlingwoman says:

Yes, I felt so terrible when i found you there and realized I hadn’t responded. I’m checking it periodically now. Most people who wind up there actually belong, but you, Eliza, do not!

  11. Joanne says:

I’m so pleased that you alerted us to this problem Eliza, I have just checked my spam comments and found some lovely comments that you had left! How cruel of WordPress. I must admit that I hadn’t realised that I had comments going astray, so thank you for asking us to check.

    • Eliza Waters says:

I finally felt compelled to post when several people let me know I had been shunted to spam. Rather frustrating! It’s made me realize that I should check my spam regularly as well. Hopefully, when everyone ‘approves’ me, I’ll be back in the game! Blessings!

  12. Robbie says:

Eliza, I found two of your comments in my spam. Thank you, for I would of missed your comments!!!

  13. Heather says:

And there it is! Guess I’m now on that list of those who have told you WP thinks you’re spammy 😉 Glad I found you and put you in the right place! Hope they get your issues sorted.

    • Eliza Waters says:

Oh, dear, I sincerely hope this can get straightened out. Thanks for letting me know.
I do like to give positive feedback on other’s posts, but I wonder if the universe is sending me a message not to be so chatty and get down to some serious posting. ;-D

  14. thank you, Eliza, for posting this…I always read through my Spam File before deleting. I did find another blogger’s article in the spam folder. I am having a problem with NOT being notified when someone writes, even though I have checked my folder where the blogs I follow…and it seems to be functioning. I do not understand why I do not receive notifications. I just go hunting for YOUR blog and others, when time permits. Your postings are so joyful and hopeful…they give me courage! Thank you! And I do hope your problem with span ceases!
