Rare sighting of Hermit Thrush in my backyard today! He’s all puffed up trying to stay warm in this latest cold snap (13 degrees today – windchill tonight negative 16! Poor guy). This summer visitor is at least three months early.

Beautiful shot – love the soft background and all the texture and color on the branch. Wonderful sighting! Stay warm!!
Thanks – you, too!
Love birds and everything that goes with them.
I so agree!
Neat Eliza! I like the lichen on the branches too, it adds lots of texture.
Thanks!
What a fantastic shot! Poor little guy. I’m worried. Why is he here so early?
I wondered the same thing myself. Perhaps it was the January thaw last week or maybe the solar flares are messing with the magnetic field which guides migration? A mystery we can only guess at.
awesome shot and such a sweet little bird !
No, no, sweet thing….too early!
He is quite adorable..nice picture of him, but I sure hope he is okay:-)
Great picture! Nice work.
