Today, I’m celebrating my 11th blogiversary! I can’t believe how the years have flown by. With over 1400 posts and counting, a few of you have been with me since the early years 👏🏼 and have witnessed the evolution from wordy to ‘Wordless’ and ‘Silent’, while others have joined me here more recently. (If you are curious, check out a couple of my earlier posts when I felt all those words needed to be expressed!) I am grateful to all of you for your views and kind comments. You are very much appreciated– thank you! 💖
It is delightful to have a garden full of flowers from which to create a vase or two whenever the inspiration hits me. Dahlia ‘Chilson’s Pride’ (light pink/white) and D. ‘Pinelands Princess’ (dark pink) are coming on strongly now, providing a base for this week’s arrangement. Purple and pink spider flower (Cleome hassleriana), purpleconeflower (Echinacea purpurea), pink and yellow zinnias (Z. elegans), and Hemerocallis ‘Hyperion’ vie for attention, while white/pink flowering tobacco (Nicotiana alata), white yarrow (Achillea millefolium),Verbena bonariensis and a sprig of anise hyssop (Agastache foeniculum) add the finishing touches.
Some more diminutive blossoms called to me to create a small vase (below) for the dining table. Orange pastel ‘Profusion’ zinnia (Z. angustifolia) and calendula (C. officinalis), flowering tobaccos (Nicotiana alata and N. langsdorffii, a favorite annual with lime green bells), orange hummingbird mint (Agastache ‘Poquito’), feverfew daisy (Tanacetum parthenium), Verbena bonariensis and seed pods of love-in-a-mist (Nigella damascena).
