What a pretty shot! Who says black and white photography can’t be exceptional?

  2. Pepper's avatar Pepper says:

Hope you are staying warm, Eliza. 😉

  3. Tina's avatar Tina says:

Oh, that’s a lovely capture, Eliza!

  4. Rebecca's avatar Rebecca says:

A beautiful photo, Eliza. Sounds like we’re about to get some of that solid and liquid also — the first of the season.

  5. Tranature - quiet moments in nature's avatar Tranature - quiet moments in nature says:

Wowsah, that looks amazing Eliza! 🤍 xxx

  6. Yet both the same. Well, I won’t try to ski on the one in the middle anyway. Great shot kind lady, let them both ever mesmerise us 🤣❤️🙏

  7. Jane Lurie's avatar Jane Lurie says:

Very nice, Eliza! Read you’re having frigid temps!

  8. Alice's avatar Alice says:

Looks very wintery…sure feels like winter! Brrr. Must be easier for the Otters, that way…have you seen any, or evidence of some?

  9. polly3yr's avatar polly3yr says:

And yet immutable…one can become the other! Thank you, Eliza

  10. That is pretty and chilly looking too ❄️

  11. willowspring66's avatar willowspring66 says:

    beautiful

  12. Vicki's avatar Vicki says:

What a mysterious image. The black water looks very murky, even though it may not be in reality.

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

This was taken from above the river, looking down on the icy edges. It generally runs clear unless we’ve had a lot of rain. As it was a overcast day and snowing, I guess that accounts for the dark water. 🙂

  13. A beautiful (but very cold looking) pic, Eliza.

  14. Maria's avatar Maria says:

A very beautiful cold winter’s day. How cold is it? The snow looks like powder.

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Thank you, Maria. It’s been below freezing for a week with lows at night in teens and single digits… even below zero. Even colder temps this coming week. But very typical for this time of year. ❄️

  15. Bela Johnson's avatar Bela Johnson says:

    Beautiful capture, Eliza.

  16. Cathy's avatar Cathy says:

Fascinating how the water carves its way through and under the ice and snow.

  17. Rupali's avatar Rupali says:

    Wow! Nice frame.

  18. ke01341's avatar ke01341 says:

Reflective of life, sometimes we need to stand solid while recognizing the need to also be fluid. Such a lovely photograph

  19. shoreacres's avatar shoreacres says:

At last, we have a nice dose of liquid, but the solid is coming, encouraged by well below freezing temperatures. Ice and snow can be pretty, but icy roads? It’s Houston demolition derby time!

  20. A stunning shot! It makes a great abstract. 😀

  21. Good to see you enjoying the black, white, and grays of winter.

  22. Lovely winter image…(Suzanne)

Monochrome makes it look even colder, Eliza!

  25. Sometimes black and white is more powerful than color. Just lovely, Eliza. 😍

  26. tomwhelan's avatar tomwhelan says:

Black and white has the best contrast. Love the curve of the stream and the image.

  27. Perfect! Are you ready for the cold and storm?

  28. Murtagh's Meadow's avatar Murtagh's Meadow says:

    Brrr – looking cold

  29. Karma's avatar Karma says:

Yes, that’s a great representation of how things look around here! I imagine the liquid part won’t be liquid on the surface for much longer with these temperatures unless that’s fast running stream.

  30. Nice contrast in this!
