Were the pretty white ones you showed us cultivars, or a naturally occurring variant? The arching stems do show off the flowers quite nicely!

Thanks, Linda. According to google, the ‘Alba’ cultivar was first recognized in 1906. It does come true from seed, so isn’t a sport that has to be vegetatively propagated. There is also a new cultivar ‘Cupid’ that is a salmon color, presumably a cross between the red and white. My sister gave me one that has flowered for the first time this year, albeit a small showing, but it will thrive I expect.

Thank you, K. I enjoy them every year with their bumblebee ‘tenders’ and nice long bloom time (provided there is no hard frost or heat wave). 🙂
