As they emerge from the leaves, often still half-hidden, they strike me as being among the shyest and most demure of flowers: like violets, or lily of the valley.

My front lawn is finally free of snow. The backyard? Along the house, still have.. I shovelled some of it off the balcony – or rather spread it out!!
I’ve been known to shovel snow onto bare spots to speed it along. 😉
Our whole property slopes to the north, so we’re always the last to melt-out. I’d like to think we’d stay cooler in summer, but it really doesn’t play out that way, ha!
Tell you what – all that I shovelled is gone.
