  1. I love the orange leaves. It took me a moment to realize what they were.

Now this was a surprise: the portion of the first picture I see in the Reader made me assume I was looking at a stump! These are lovely pictures 🙂

& shared! And not just walked by! So many interesting patterns.

Your image of the leaves took me straight back to 2017, when I photographed some hanging in a similar way: albeit covered in mud left by Hurricane Harvey. Yours look more attractive, backlighted in snow!

I love texture on bark, whether it’s from the bark or something else. Lovely photo, Eliza!

    Beautiful textures, Eliza. Lovely trio!

That first photo created an interesting visual effect. At first glance I thought the light circular marks represented tops of stumps. Further confirmation that Mother Nature is an impressive artist.

    Such interesting patterns and textures.

  10. Capturing textures is always wonderful, especially in winter. Well done, Eliza.

  11. The last photo looks like a fine tapestry; I like them all!

My favorite is the one of the hanging leaves — they’re such a pretty color, and surrounded by snow like that, they just pop!

  13. Cool! name that trunk!?

Lovely images of familiar winter sights – it’s a great time to look more closely at bark, leaves, moss and lichen, bark curls…

  15. I instantly saw a duck heading around the corner with the top beige spot lol. 😉

  16. With the tree trunk pictures, have you considered cropping in more tightly so that no background is visible at all, thereby making what remains more abstract?

    Such cool little details, excellent!

  18. Adele Brand's avatar Adele Brand says:

All those colours and textures on the trunk of the first tree! It would be a long but enjoyable painting.

  19. Great seeing Eliza … a tree that’s displaying a modern art design! 🙂
