Happy Christmas Eliza!
Thank you, Cindy!
This is perfect, Eliza! The sun screened by the trees and the animal track.
Thank you, Audrey. 🙂
Lovely picture Erika. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year kind lady, may it all be a blessing and full of love 🤗🦋🎄🎅🎶🎁🕊️🦌☃️❤️🙏
Thanks, Mark. 🙏🏼❄️
Great photo
Merci, Sheree!
Hi Eliza. What made those tracks? We were planning to have a session by a roaring firepit to mark the solstice this evening but we have a couple of days of nonstop rain so maybe not!
MJ
Our dog Wren insists on blazing the trail. 🙂
Stay warm and dry!
Snowy greetings
Thank you, Sanjay!
How beautiful! Merry happy Solstice to you, too, Eliza. 🙂
Thank you, Robin! 🙏🏼❄️
Absolutely gorgeous, Eliza.
Thank you, Debra!
We made it! Now bring on the sun….it’s getting too gloomy. BTW, what tracks are those?
Yes! Wren blazing the trail, of course! 🙂
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…
Yes! And I think we may actually have a white Christmas!
Perfect capture! Enjoy the snowy walks, crispy air and views….but also looking forward to Spring…longer light and flowers!
Thank you, Alice. We turn back towards the sun, yay!
The winter light is lovely! Happy holidays.

Thank you, Ellen!
I laughed at myself when I awoke at 3:20 this morning — just in time for Solstice at 3:21. Being a wise sort, I went back to sleep instead of talking a walk, but if Solstice had come at 3:21 p.m., and your woods had been available, I would have headed out into that beauty immediately!
So is that what woke me up? Goodness and I couldn’t fall back asleep either, ha!
You have so much more snow than we do! Looks beautiful! We should have an inch or two on the ground for Christmas…
Thank you, Chris. Hope you get a white Christmas. ❄️
Happy solstice! I am so envious of your beautiful snow scene.
Thank you!
A pretty image. Enjoy the day! Now that snow has fallen here, I’ll head for the woods, where I’ll find a scene like the one you photographed.
Thank you, Tom. Hope you find plenty of beauty!

Beautiful! This time I think we got more snow than you did. Or maybe the wind blew in more snow into our yard.
Thank you, Hien. Now that is unusual!
Nature is such a beautiful guide.
Thank you, Gary. I’d follow her anywhere! 🙂
Beautiful photo, Eliza!
Thank you, Tina!
Lovely!
Thank you, Julie!
Gorgeous photographs Eliza and happy Solstice to you too! 💖💫 xxx
Thank you, Xenia! ❄️
A like the way the sun illuminates the scene! A lovely photo, Eliza 😊.
Thank you, Belinda! ✨❄️
I want to walk down the path.
🙂 It leads to the river. A nice trail to meander.
That is so pretty, Eliza. We got a mere dusting last night. Sigh. Nothing pretty…
Thank you, Dale. I think what we have will stick around until Christmas. A white xmas is rare these past few years.
Wonderful! We did have more in the forecast but now… meh. Maybe 40% chance on Tuesday 😦
..and the light returns! Very pretty photo! Happy solstice!
Thank you, Maria! ❄️✨
Happy New Year! 😀
Thank you! 🙏
Perfect image – here’s to longer days
Amen… thanks, Karina!
How lovely, Eliza. Makes me miss the beauty of winter. Happy solstice and warm wishes to you and yours! 🌟
Thank you, Jane. Winter is quite beautiful, true, but I bet you don’t miss the cold, living in beautiful CA!
☺️☀️
Happy shortest day of the year. Tomorrow a minute extra of sunshine.
I’ll take it, one minute at a time. 🙂 Thanks, Monika!
Great shot to mark the solstice, Eliza. I always look forward to seeing each day lengthen again.

Thank you, Kris. Slowly, day by day, the change comes. 🙂
That should be a Christmas card Eliza. Snow and sunsshine and trees are a lovely sight. 😃
Thank you, Cathy! 🙂
Stunning photo, Eliza — thank you for sharing it!
Thank you, Debbie, my pleasure!
A walk in a snowy forest seems like a perfect way to celebrate Winter Solstice!
Thank you, Denise. I never tire of walking this trail!
How silently beautiful your walk must have been, Eliza! Enjoy every moment and hope you (and yours) have a wonderful holiday season!
Thank you, Kim. It is a lovely trail around our property, well worn from years of foot traffic. It also restores and calms. 🙂 Happy holidays to you as well.
Thank you!
What a gorgeous path and photo!🙂
Thank you, our daily loop trail. 🙂
A beautiful scene.
Thank you!
As usual a bit late, sorry, but Happy Solstice for last Saturday. The photo is everything Solsticy with sunlight, snow and nature
Thank you, Jill. I hope you are doing well, enjoy your Christmas holiday! ✨
Am doing, but still going to work between times. Hope you had a happy Christmas.
What a beautiful post reflecting on the changing seasons and the meaning of the solstice! It’s a lovely reminder to slow down and embrace the rhythm of nature during this time of year. While getting my carpets cleaned and tidying up for the holidays, I stumbled across this thoughtful piece—it added a calming perspective to my busy day. Thanks for sharing such a grounding message!
Peace, Sarah.
I so enjoyed your moving solstice greetings, Eliza. Thank you and Happy Solstice to you as we celebrate the lengthening days on earth.
Thank you, Jet. We bring to climb back towards summer. 🙂
Beautiful, Eliza!
Thank you, Dawn!
You’re welcome! Happy New Year!
Lovely! Looks so peaceful.
Thank you, Rebecca. It is that, for sure.
What a lovely scene. And a nice reminder that the days will (slowly) start to lengthen again.
Thank you, Tanja. I love the process as we progress minute by minute, slowly transforming our world.
The time change is barely noticeable right now but will soon become more obvious.
Awesome, happy solstice!
Thank you, Nailah!
Your dog’s tracks added great depth to the beautiful scene! Solstice again already – good news for you as days start to lengthen, while here the days gradually contract. However, our two hottest months January and February still lie ahead …
Thank you, Carol. I’m glad the changes are gradual. Likewise, our two coldest months are ahead of us. Time yet to enjoy our respective seasons!
