Excellent image, Eliza! 💛
Thank you, Jane! 🙏🏼 💛
So cool!
Thanks, Dale. What a beauty, eh? 🙂
Very much so!
Looks like art! Or a puzzle…
Thanks, Audrey. Nature’s art, but ugh, what a tough puzzle it would make! 😀
Delightful shot Eliza. We’ve handled these things a thousand times but never see. But like our understanding of our fears, after its removal a whole new lens observes this world. Fantastic, and a great share. Thank you kind lady 🤗❤️🙏
Thanks, Mark. I love this pattern and it begged to be shared. 🙂
Indeed it does, thank you 🤗🤣❤️🙏
wow what an image! Love this.
Thank you, Jackie! 🙏🏼
So amazing to see this skin up close!
I was immediately struck by its beauty, such wonderful contrast!
Wow. My 5 yo twin grandsons and I have been playing a game. They want to know if plants communicate. They ask me every plant they can think of from grass to trees to flowers. I always ask SIRI for confrmation with them. She confirms plants communicate both through chemical messages and their roots. Siri hasn’t yet looked into the venous structure of leaves.
The patterns of nature are downright spiritual! I love that your grand-boys are curious about their world. 5-years-old is my favorite age, wonderful sponges they are!
The melon. Lovely
Thanks, Rupali. Let’s hope it tastes as good as it looks!
I simply LOVE this picture!
🙂 Thanks much, Anne!
Wow 😮 ⭐️
🙂 Thanks, Karen. Such a beautiful pattern, I had to share it!
Wallpaper! 🙂
Ha, yes! 😀
Food web, indeed. An awesome title for a picture that shows us so much more! 💜🙏🏻
Thanks, Carrie. I couldn’t resist the play on words. 😉
Neat graphic.
Thanks, Jim!
nice details…A tough rind…(made me think of chapped skin).
Thanks, Alice. It was so attractive a pattern!
I’d never heard of a Hami melon, but this is exactly what a nice, ripe Pecos melon should look like. I bought one a couple of days ago, and it was luscious.
I wish we could get vine-ripened melons here, but most have to be shipped in, so they are picked when not quite ripe. The best melon I’ve ever had was in Guatemala. The memory still haunts me!
That would make a great (& difficult) jigsaw puzzle!
Oh, golly… that would drive me crazy, lol!
What a great pattern. Makes for a unique photo.
Thank you, Vicki. I thought it was so beautiful!
Beautiful pattern and color! I have never had that kind of melon. Is it closer to cantaloupe or honey dew.
Like a golden honeydew. Can’t wait to try it!
Sounds delicious!
I couldn’t figure out what it was.
The pattern was so attractive… but that’s why I put what it was in the caption. 😉
Cantaloupe (??) 💛😉😊
Hami melon, originates from Xinjiang, China. Supposed to be “sweet and crisp.” We’ll see!
I’m not familiar with that type of melon, but I recognized the pattern immediately — wonderful capture, Eliza!
Thank you, Debbie!
Drooling just looking at that skin.
IKR? Can’t wait to taste it! 🙂
Nature is the best artist! That closeup could easily hang on a gallery wall somewhere.

Thank you very much, Kris! It captivated me as soon as I saw it. 🙂
Wonderful!!…in every sense of the word!
🙂 Thanks, Mic!
Makes a nice abstract design!
Thanks, Sandy, it truly does!
Now I’m hungry for a cantaloupe!
The perfect summer treat. 🙂 Ever try chilled cantaloupe soup with orange and mint? Sublime!
No, I haven’t, but it sounds amazing!
Great title and photo, Eliza!
Thank you, Belinda! 🙂
What a wonderful macro Eliza! 🧡
Thank you, Xenia. I found this simply beautiful!
I love the texture of cantaloupe (and the taste, of course!). I always run my hands over a melon when I’ve purchased one; hope that doesn’t sound too weird. 🙂 Great subject for a photo!
Thanks, Tina. Food is best enjoyed through all the senses!
Nice shot!
Gracias, Maria!
Fine abstract – love the patterns.
Thank you, Tom. Nature is the best artist.
Fascinating to look at close up, and something we rarely notice the intricacies of. 😃
Thanks, Cathy. I can get lost looking at those intricate patterns, this one has more contrast than the average cantaloupe. Bark can stop me the same way. 🙂
Awesome!
Thank you, Nancy!
Such beautiful complexity in the pattern – and the colour is lovely too.
Thank you, Carol. It was tasty, too. 🙂
Glad the taste lived up to expectations!
Mother Nature is the best at making patterns!
So true!
