I think around 3F was our lowest (which is still above normal for us), and a week where it didn’t rise out of the 20s (or lower) during the day. The ice builds quickly at those temps.

I’d say a foot at least. With all the rain of late, the stream is much fuller than usual for this time of year.

It looks like the inside of an ice cave, filled with little piles of minerals that have formed from dripping water. Also: it reminds me of the Minnesota ice castle Home Free used as the setting for one of their Christmas songs.
It took only a few days to build this up… rain in the 40s tomorrow and like Jericho, the walls will come tumbling down. Loved the Home Free ice castle. ❄️💙
I thought that was cauliflower for a minute! I guess things are more seasonal now.

It was very cold here last week, but this week the temps rose with lots of rain and now the ice is almost all gone! The vagaries of nature.
