    That does look icy cold

  9. Alice's avatar Alice says:

‘Icy mushrooms’…a whole different frigid world.

  10. Brrrr… I reached for my shawl as I looked at these pictures! How low did your temperatures get?

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

I think around 3F was our lowest (which is still above normal for us), and a week where it didn’t rise out of the 20s (or lower) during the day. The ice builds quickly at those temps.

  11. Dale's avatar Dale says:

    But gorgeous!

  12. Goodness, that ice looks thick!

  13. And we thought 25 degrees was cold.

  14. shoreacres's avatar shoreacres says:

It looks like the inside of an ice cave, filled with little piles of minerals that have formed from dripping water. Also: it reminds me of the Minnesota ice castle Home Free used as the setting for one of their Christmas songs.

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

It took only a few days to build this up… rain in the 40s tomorrow and like Jericho, the walls will come tumbling down. Loved the Home Free ice castle. ❄️💙

  15. I thought that was cauliflower for a minute! I guess things are more seasonal now.

  16. What a nice ice formation. I like how ice often imitate art. (Suzanne)

  17. 🥶 Brrr. That scene, while beautiful makes me shiver.

I think the patterns made by ice are fascinating. Thanks for capturing and sharing. Check out this one I caught many years ago: https://larryklink.smugmug.com/MyFav/i-hxGkHCT/A
