I can smell the sage. It’s another scent of home somehow. ❤

  2. Striking! Did the place have a spicy smell?

So quiet…awaiting a first snow. Interesting, to me, that the forest hasn’t crept in.

I think the Park Service maintains the meadows… they are also very wet in the spring from all the melting snow seeping through. Fire management is a big thing out there.

  4. Love the soft grayish-green hues, so peaceful.

    Muted beauty!

  6. I thought it was frost when I first looked at it.

  7. this is gorgeous! like a watercolor painting

  8. That’s a lot of sage and I bet the scent was wonderful.

In the background, there seem to be strands of pinkish-lavender color meandering through the landscape. Is that still-blooming sage? It’s all beautiful.

I’m not sure, but maybe patches of penstemon, heath shrub or asters, which I did see here and there in my wanderings. There was only one short boardwalk loop in this spot, so we didn’t venture beyond that. A beautiful view, for sure.

What a lovely spot! Too bad the Internet doesn’t allow us to publish scents!

  12. Was the sage growing in the wild? It must have had a pleasant smell.

This appeals to more than one of my senses. I like your yellow toadstool header too.

    Serene.

A quiet place . I have read about Sage but I am not sure if it grows in my place, South India.

  16. Reminds me of some fishing trips I’ve taken up there. Sleeping on the ground, shivering (always underestimated the low temps) waiting for the sun to rise for the first cast on the lake, and that fragrance filling my senses. Scents and memories, cousins!

Lovely – the sage almost looks frosted.
