I’m sharing three little vases this week. Nearly every day as I wander around the garden, I pick a bit of this or that to bring inside to enjoy. Not much makes me happier!

Thanks to Cathy at Rambling in the Garden for hosting the weekly garden meme In A Vase on Monday. Click the link to see what other gardeners have created this week.

Gooseneck loosestrife is very pretty. I am unfamiliar with it. It looks like something that I should know. Goldenrod is very pretty also. I am aware of it, but have not yet met it. Heck, all these flowers are very pretty.
Eliza always has such stunning flowers…
Thank you very much, J & A!

Well, yes. I should remember that.
Thank you, Tony. Not sure how they do in CA, but they sure do very well here!
Well, California is so very diverse that they likely perform well somewhere here. I would say that they would be popular if they performed well here, but that is not necessarily the case. I met common phlox only a few years ago, and it grows like a weed.
So love dahlias-yours are especially beautiful. Just wish they weren’t so darn work intensive due to the cold winters.
Thank you, Monika. They are a lot like potatoes, in terms of work digging them up. I’ve got it down to a system now… dig, LABEL!, wash, dry a day, cut up, sort, wrap in newspaper and store. Yeah, you’re right… a lot of work, but so worth it come bloom time!
Holy cow…even more work than I thought! Bless you for continue to beautify the garden for those of us who aren’t nearly as benevolent. 😇
🙂 If you lived nearby, I’d send you home with a bouquet.
Aww, that’s very generous and kind. Thank you!
Wow, Eliza, you have a beautiful way of working with flowers! 😊
🙂 Thank you, John!
You’re welcome. 😊
It must be lovely coming into your home filled with fresh flowers at the moment 🙂
It is that, Anne. (I sit beside a vase of sweet peas that are delighting me right now.) In summer, I can fill many vases from my garden with no limit. In winter, it is only a single store-bought bouquet that must suffice.
Our gooseneck loosestrife is just about done, only a tiny flower or two at the tips. But they were beautiful, beeutiful too, and attracted a lot of pollinators. Three lovely vasefuls, Eliza.
Thank you, Steve. Yes, these were trimmed tips as well. I couldn’t just toss them, they last so well in a vase. I’ve had a stray bloom even into fall.
My dahlias were disappointing this year, I cannot say that about yours, Eliza…
Thank you, we’ve had a lot of rain and that seems to make them happy. 🙂
I can understand that, Eliza… I love rain too! 🌧
It is nice to scatter flowers throughout the house for easy smiles. Your dahlias are quite beautiful, Eliza.
Thank you, Susie. I agree, I have them everywhere! It is hard to resist ordering different dahlias for more variety, even though I have roots aplenty and not enough garden space for more. A gardener’s perennial dilemma!
All are gorgeous! I do love that second one, it really has a special something!
Thank you, Dale. That is my favorite, too. Simple color combo perhaps?
I think so – white and yellow. And I just love how the gooseneck fans out. Really pretty arrangement.
Thank you kindly! x
💞
Nice to see I’m not the only one with a windowsill loaded with small vases of flowers! And Dahlias!! 🙂
We can’t resist! 😀
Such sweet littles!
🙂 Thanks, Laurie!
The dahlias are lush and lovely. I make several small vases every week and love them until they fall apart. I wish I could share photos with you but I haven’t figured out how to do that in these comments.
Thanks, Ellen. You could email me a photo, I’d love that, or you could post a photo on your blog… but that might break the shared rules?
Vases are overflowing with happiness, color and love.
The combination of the Loosestrife and Feverfew is especially appealing, although I certainly can see why all you northern sorts are so enthusiastic about your Dahlias.
Thank you, Linda… I love that L & F combo, too, the result of tidying the front walk, which was becoming rapidly impassable! Yes, dahlias have such a perfect Fibonacci form and the colors are irresistible. One always wants more.
It is hard to pick a favorite.
🙂 Thanks, I’m glad I don’t have to!
Lovely dahlias Eliza. I enjoy seeing dahlias in other people’s vases as they will not thrive for me… too many earwigs! The Goldenrod is coming out here as well. Beautiful Loosestrife too. 😃
Thank you, Cathy. Sorry about the earwigs. I am always torn with destroying them because the larval stage eats pests, while the adults eat flowers! 😦 But maybe a few traps might cut down your population? https://www.almanac.com/how-make-earwig-trap-your-vegetable-garden
Thank you Eliza. I hate killing creatures, but may need to try some of these if the earwigs continue to eat my basil! We had none last year, but this year they are making a late appearance. We don’t mind them at all, but my basil is sacred! 🤣
Maybe a trap or two under the basil might help?
I’ll give it a go!
How I love your flowers, especially the Dahlias! And I imagine it’s very restful, walking amid such beauty every day and picking a little to bring inside with you.
Thank you, Debbie. It is a lovely meditation, quite grounding.
I love your little vases, Eliza, especially the second one with the loosestrife and feverfew – and the yellows in the last photo! Thanks for sharing
Each is beautiful in its own right but, despite my obsession with dahlias, that second one stole my heart. I’m glad the summer season is being generous with you!
I agree there is nothing better than snipping a bit of this and that and making vases. Brings smiles just thinking about it.
A pastime that soothes the restless soul!
So pleased you shared these beauties, Eliza 😊
Thank you, Belinda. 🙂
Beautiful! Have you considered putting a photography book together? 😊
Thank you, Pepper. I wouldn’t know where to start, lol!
Not sure I would either but I know it is possible with Lightroom. 😉
Each bouquet is cheerful in its own way, Eliza. Your dahlia color scheme suggests that autumn isn’t far away.
Thank you, Tanja. These cooler nights lately have me agreeing. 🙂
They are all three gorgeous Eliza!
Thank you kindly! 🙂
Wonderful flower arrangements and I absolutely LOVE the burgundy voodoo dahlias!!🙂
Thank you! I love that dark burgundy, it’s a reliable bloomer, too.
I’ve mentioned this before to you, but I have to say it again how wonderful it must be to be able to wander around your garden and “pick a bit of this or that to bring inside to enjoy.” Beautiful.
Thank you, Randall. It is my most deeply satisfying pastime, for the connection I feel as a part of, and one with nature. Creating and sharing the beauty of a garden is such a pleasure for me.
All three are beautiful – but the second one is my favourite
Thank you, Karina, my favorite as well. 🙂
Oh my goodness, they’re lovely, Eliza.
Thanks very much, Alys!
Beauties, always!
Thank you, Bela!
