You’ve created such a beautiful area. I wonder what the landscape was like before your magic?

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

The former owners had a large veggie and fruit orchard in the back yard. One by one the fruit trees got blight and had to be removed. We used the big garden for veggies for about 15 years, then switched to a CSA share. I planted a perennial bed instead!

Pretty in purple with a background in yellow. Do two colours fit more perfectly together? It think not! Lovely, Eliza.

  10. Absolutely lovely! Purple and yellow is such a winning combination.

What a relaxing place for a stroll! I don’t think I’d ever get much work done if I had such a pretty garden.

Beautiful, calming, cool. Do you have a deer fence, or are these all naturally not favored flavors?

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Thanks, Su. There is a deer fence on the left side where all the munchies are. The deer visit the right side to munch on phlox (it’s being dug out this fall), bluebells and daylilies, which are treated with repellent. With so much in the woods, why do they have to munch here?!

That’s just a pretty, pretty picture! No words needed!

Oh, I adore this view and the soft color palette. Just cut back my lamb’s ears. They were way past their prime but the bees insisted they still tasted good.

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Thank you, Susie. I end up deadheading lamb’s ears twice to please the bees. First cutting is terminal buds, leaving the side shoots that I deadhead later. A compromise!

Your lavender is beautiful. Sadly mine died this winter. I hoped for the longest time that there would be some life left, but finally gave up all hopes. I’ll plant som new ones either in the fall, or next spring.

  20. I can see your love for flowers here, beautiful, Eliza!

  21. So lovely and I’m imagining beginning my day with a cup of coffee overlooking that stunning garden!!🙂
